This is one job I would leave to the professionals. Since your propane is highly flammable and the lines will be under pressure, it is absolutely essential that they be installed properly. The use of black pipe is most common in these situations. Keep in mind that an experienced plumber will have all of the pipe cutting and threading equipment needed for the job. A plumber will also have the equipment to pressure test the lines and arrange to have the installation inspected by the appropriate governmental inspector. Do not neglect this step since your homeowner's insurance carrier will void your policy if you bootleg the job. Also keep in mind that the plumber should furnish you with a warranty on his work and provide you with a Certificate of Insurance covering general liability and completed contracts.

Good luck with your cabin project.
