Is it possible for someone so deluded to actually go on to become a success? I'm guessing the answer is yes, but probably because of the same reasons that mediocre people reach powerful positions.

...I believe God is sovereign, and raises up one and puts another down, as He sees fit. It doesn't sound like you do - maybe you believe in luck, chance, fate?
...The Bible is full of good advice on success (Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 1:1-3, for example). I know many successful Christians, and I know hundreds of families who have managed quite well without believing in the theory (yes, theory) of evolution.
...You call people deluded if they don't believe your evolution theory. Your theory is full of problems and gaps. You should re-think your position and re-study it very diligently.
...It takes more faith to believe evolution that it does to believe the creation model.
...If any insist on believing in evolution, go ahead. I choose to believe in a loving, Creator God, who sent Jesus to die for me, and He loves me, and hears my prayers, and one day I'll be in Heaven with Him, for sure (in John 5:24, Jesus says, "He who hears My word, and believes Him who sent me, has [as a present possession] eternal life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved.
(Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Define success. It can mean different things to different people.

I don't believe in evolution and I don't consider myself deluded. I have looked at many different viewpoints, researched different areas on the topic and, for me, an intelligent designer makes more sense than a random accident.

Don't know whether or not I would be considered successful, but I am fairly happy. A lot of successful people can't say that and that's sad in its own way.

What do you mean by 'successful life'? Nobody can set criteria for it. The field of human endeavours is immense and variant. Decades ago we had no ideas about the great successes on the digital technology, biology, futurology, and thousands of other new ...logies!
Perhaps, the real successful man is he who maintains his last breath enbalmed with the fragrance of God's love. Without His divine education, we have no knowledge to attain any meaningful achievements on earth.

First off, youd need to define "successful".

Secondly, I'm almost positive Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell dont believe in evolution, and theyre by most peoples standards successful.

Does everyone you know believe in evolution? Why would you think believing in Evolution would be required for success? That is almost stupid. But I could get deleted for calling you an idiot so I wont.

Certainly, as long as their careers are not in the sciences. If you understand evolution, you believe it, because it is now a proven fact, and if you are doing any sort of biological science, you must understand it. But if you are editing a newspaper, or teaching history, you do not need to know anything about it.

Sadly, intelligence doesn't guarantee success and ignorance doesn't prevent it. There is a lot of luck in that sometimes. There is always the ignorant who fleece the ignorant in God's name too.

I dont disbelieve Evolution. I think that the theory is incomplete and not the only explanation of things. To close you mind off to one line of thinking is akin to stupidity.
