1. Avoid vent brushes with plastic bristles. These can cause further damage by ripping through the hair. On dry hair, use a wide brush with a foam pad that allows more give. Since wet hair is more susceptible to tearing, comb it gently with a wide-tooth comb.

2. Try not to shampoo every day if you have dry hair. On off-days, simply scrub your scalp with your fingers in the shower and condition the ends;

3. Protect hair when heat-styling. Apply a leave-in conditioner. Also, keep the blow-dryer at least 4 inches from your hair.

4. Book a trim every six to eight weeks to remove damaged ends. And never let a stylist shape your mane with a razor; it could damage the ends of the hair,

WHAT WORKS Be gentle with your hair and use a deep conditioner twice a week to help prevent damage But if you do have split ends, know that they cannot be fixed or mended; they can only be cut off,

And between cuts, try to minimize the stress on your strands. For example, instead of pulling hair back with a plastic or metal clip, which can break strands, use a fabric or stretchable elastic--it's gentler. You'll begin to notice a change in your hair very quickly when you start to take better care of it.
Good luck im growing my hair long too, but im starting on to follow this , this week...lol i hateee them

Well first of all there's no way to undo the damage done to your ends, but you can use shampoos that RESTORE your hair to make your ends stronger. First get another trim and then go to a salon and ask them about something to protect against split ends, they'll know exactly what shampoo & conditioner you'll need (I use Pantene and it works great)

heavily, end straightening your hair so usually. as quickly as an afternoon is sufficient. Use a expert grade straightener. occasion: FHI makes an mind-blowing straightener. It expenditures lots extra yet your hair remains straightened for 3 to 4 days. properly well worth the investment!! Its severe to deep project your hair two times a week at a minimum. Use expert styling products that look after hair against warmth from blow drying, curling and straightening. Trim your hair each and every 8 to twelve weeks. in case you narrow back the quantity of heat exposure on your hair, you will no longer could trim as usually.

some peoples hair just doesn't grow that long. don't use alot of heat on it and don't brush it while it's wet, don't go to bed with it wet. the hair is much weaker when it's wet. also using alot of high heat on it will cause it to split in the ends. make sure the stylist is using sharp shears on your hair, if they are dull it can fray the hair when she cuts it. if you do use alot of heat make sure to a protectant on it to help keep it healthier.

Just leave it alone, let it grow, cut the split ends when it is as long as you wanted.

when your hair is still wet, rub some hair serum into the ends. it will keep it protected. Bonus: your hair will be shinier and blow dry smooth
Some brands are Frizz-ease and zero frizz.
You can use it even if you don't have curly hair or frizzy hair.

brushing is not very good if you do it very frequently, using a lot of hair prodcuts,also splits your ends, and ironing your hair too much
