How can I know with out really prying?

I agree with Jessica, casually ask him what year he was born. Anyone can automatically answer that....but if he's lying about his age, he'll take a few seconds to do the math in his head. And even if he does blurt out a year, do the math yourself and find out if it matches up with the age he gave.

Look up his birth recorders, search through wallet, ask his family, ask friends.

Thatsa tough one,...steal his wallet when hes not looking and check his ID.
Or if you know his parents or know how to contact them.. ask them

check his driving licence or suggest a trip somewhere just to check his passport then cancel it give a good excuse though

check his drivers license and then ask questions when looking at it like, address, eye color, weight, just a few.

unless its some guy you meet over the net your out of luck...if its someone you can meet in person its pretty simple....ask him to show some ID ok?

talk about your ID, the fact that they all look like mug shots, ask what his looks like, you can see the year he was born.
