If you leave the Army and join the Marines, you have to go to boot camp again. If you leave the Marines and join the Army, you can skip boot camp. This is because even the Army knows their training is inferior to the Marines.

Like others said each branch has its offers; it's like a puzzle, which one fits best with you. The Army has more MOS's (jobs) and they let you pick your job. The Marines don't necessarily let you pick your job. If your looking for combat arms then Marines is more respectable, unless you can get into the Rangers or Special Forces, and harder and more rewardng; plus they are going to see on average more combat. If your looking to pick up a skill, the Army probably can provide the MOS, as the Army has a lot of jobs that compare to and will help you in the civilian world. It all depends on what you want to do in the millitary.

As a mom of 2 military sons I'd have to say check into both branches. See which one has the best to offer you. Contact both the Army and Marine Corp and take it from there. Listen to your heart and mind. What ever branch will suit your future the best is the one you will want. I admire you so very much for wanting to join the service and wish you so much luck as well.

Marines you get trained for combat no matter what, and its the best training that the armed forces have to offer, you ever wonder why if you transfer to any other branch you have to go through boot camp all over, if your a marine you go through it once and if you want to transfer then your good to go. Plus there is more of a brotherly bond with marines.

If you want to be a brain dead bushbot robot who blindly follows orders...join the Marine corp.

If you want the opportunity to cross train into real jobs you can do once you get out of the service...join the Army.

There's a reason why 90% of the chief joint chiefs of staff are Army guys.

Sorry every branch trains for combat. For urban warfare, Army & Marines are the best way to go. Army trains the Marines in SF & Airborne. So what does that tell you?

It depends on what you would like to do. My husband is army and he says the air force has the easiest physical training. My friend has family in the air force and they all agree the air force is the easiest branch. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Depends on your character and your heart. Also on what you desire to achieve from your experiences. I have been both and both have different qualities that can assist you in achieving your future goals. talk to some vets, not the recruiters and get solid info on both sides.
