Your forgetting one thing........the creepiest organization in the world is also the most unseen........The underworld of Satan and his fallen angels........of which he is the god of. If you are a child of the world, than you are under the control of Satan. Well all I can say is that Jesus said that there would be false prophets. So I'm not surprised that these people are claiming to represent God when in fact they are representing the Devil. They are giving God a bad name. We already knew this was going to happen.

The Almighty YHVH created this world very good. Once man sinned, he could no longer meet the requirements of YHVH. Because of His great love for man, He sent His son the Savior. The Savior's name means YHVH is my Savior!--YAHOSHUA! The only way one can have his sins taken care of is to invite the Savior in to carry them. If a person chooses to remain attached to their sins, they will be consumed in the cleansing fire the Almighty will send to cleanse this world so He can make it new! How could the Almighty be more generous?

That's because all societies have religious beliefs. If you're implying that eliminating religion would eliminate creepiness I think you're mistaken.
