The pink and purple scheme sounds beautiful, perfect for a Spring wedding. The pink dress with purple sash with purple flowers sounds really nice. I don't think the purple will take away from the pink at all, actually I think it will accent it. I'm sure you will have a beautiful wedding.

My colors are white and blue, but I don't think that will be boring because there are so many shades of blue I can use. It's using variation in the colors. For integrating either color, have you considered holding pink and white flowers yourself and your bridesmaids holding pink, but a different flower type or shade than yours? Instead of a purple sash, if it's possible, how about a white sash? If you definitely want to have purple, you could use that as the accent color in their bouquets. They could have a purple hairpin or flower or two (or however it would work for them) in their hair.
By the way, have you considered if your bridesmaids would look good in pink? Not all do - one of mine, a redhead, hates to wear it. You might check with them about the color. If the dresses haven't been ordered yet, and see if they come in purple. You could vary it, then. Just a thought. But don't delay in this - my biggest mistake so far. Have a wonderful wedding!

I think the pink/purple/white would be beautiful. I love both of them colors, I would use white flowers with maybe a pink in the middle to make it stand out. I would use a light pink and purple like pastels for spring.

I think it would be good to have various shades of pink (rose, mauve, wine, pastel pink, hot pink) and just tiny bits of bright purple. I wouldn't go too pastel because it will wash out most people. Orchids would be a beautiful accent and would bring in the best purple to your scheme. I wouldn't do white, to be honest. I would maybe do ecru or an off white as a very tiny accent.

Pink/purple/white is a good combo
I've also seen pink/purple/black if the affair is formal.
As for flowers, I suggest if the maids have white, you may want to include 3 to 5 of your colour so as to complement them.

I would use the white/pink/purple combo. You can probably do a real light purple (just to accent) and, if you don't have a pink shade preference, go with a deep, dark pink to be more bold.

Most grown women hate to be seen in 2 things when it comes to weddings:
1. Poofy "80's Prom Type" dresses
2. Dresses that are Pink.
May I suggest a more sophisticated dress with spagetti straps that can be altered so it can be worn again, in a light lavendar with a pink ribbon that can also be removed.
Since they have to pay for their own dresses, be nice and keep in mind if they will be able to re-use these dresses again. with the bouqet and the rest of the flowers you can go as crazy as you want with the pink, purple and lavendar. But, it will be too much on for the dresses - go more subtle.
Hope that helps.

Instead of using just a pale pink and lavender ... why not go for a range of pinks and couple that with white accents, like feathers or berries. Do something like hot pink, pale pink and white ... it will definitely be more interesting than light pink and white. Add something bold in there and spice it up :)

in most cases, it is better to have 3 or 4 colors - one main color, two or three accent colors. The key to making sure that one color (pink) still stands out is to make sure the other colors are used often but in small amounts. If your girls are wearing pink with lavendar sashes, have them carry lavendar bouquets that also have pink and white accents (ribbon, small flowers, etc) and so one.

The weddings I've been to lately the bridesmaids all wore pink. My cousin, at her wedding it was a combination of white and gold that was used. I think too much of one color or a couple colors would look rather garish, or as Sally Field put it in Steel Magnolias, the place would look like it had been hosed down with Peptmo Bismol.
