Countless times have I wondered the answer to this question...I have been ridiculed by my friends when I don't reconize that a girl is flirting with me...Somebody help here...

Most times, when the girl acts nervous. Some girls can't shut up, can't stop giggling, can't stop touching your arm, back, head or stomach, can't take their eyes off you, can't make eye contact, won't walk away even when there is an uncomfortable silence, bite their nails, twirl hair, is that enough? Are you confused yet? You just have to learn to recognize the tell-tale signs. Each girl has their own tell, just like a guy. If you approach a girl and she displays some of these signs but doesn't act interested, she is either seeing if you are up for the challenge and in turn is determined to play hard to get or she is really not interested at all. Get some game, man! And just start going out to observe, not pick-up. Watch the ladies hit on or be hit on and you will see what they think is cool or not. Don't do what is not cool, like hanging on her, groping her, being all up in her face. You'll figure it out. Good Luck!

If you don't know then you're obviously not paying enough attention. There are some girls that will throw themselves at you full force, if you miss that then good luck to you. There are some that are too shy to do much of anything, but rather are waiting for you to make the move. Here's my thought...if you really like hanging out with her, really enjoy her company, then ask her if she'd like to go for coffee or lunch sometime. Something low key and simple. Once you get one on one time with her you should be able to feel your way through it all - she should make it obvious enough that she's interested. If she doesn't then perhaps she is not the girl for you. Seems as though you need someone who is a little more forward. Good luck in your endeavors.

Okay this is a complicated answer.
When she is around you look at her body language. Is she facing directly towards you? Does she look into your eyes? And when she does do it seem for an extended period of time? Does she talk about you to make conversation?
When she is around you, is she wearing make-up? Is her hair done? Did she put some extra time into her looks?
Also, When you're talking, Does she laugh alot? Does she often touch you on the arm or make contact when around you?
Body language is the best way of knowing. Also, listen to what she says. That is often a dead giveaway.
And if shes with her friends, check to see if they are looking at you from across the room. This will show if you're getting the friends approval.

Ok, eye contact, if she looks at you and then looks away, this means she thinks you look nice or cute, but is a little shy. How does a girl know for sure if a guy is flirting with her? I sometimes feel like I'm in the same boat as you, I'll totally ignore a guy who is 'flirting' and my friends will tell me he was flirting, but it's sometimes hard to know if someone is flirting or just being friendly. Anyway, flirting = laughing, talking, eye contact, smiling, blushing... =) Good luck!

if you are a guy you honestly can't tell. Sometimes it is just our personalities, sometimes it is flirting.
All of us girls flirt differently. There will be tons of answers, and all of these are correct.
here's an example...someone in a conservative comunity would not consider touch a flirty thing, it would be offensive...and for some people they need more than just a look, smile, laugh, and hair twirl (my normal).
it's what makes us woman great! we're all different enough that guys can't figure us out!

Well, for me, when I flirt, okay fine, when I'm embarassed/flirting/surprised I flare my nostrils. How embarassing is that?
Anyways, everyone will have one very tiny detail that's different about them when they flirt. Pay attention to every move. If they're like smiling, giggling, then bingo.

Alot of girls flirt. we adore the interest. i'm immediately and that i flirt with adult men and women. some immediately adult men flirt with gay adult men cuz they prefer getting a reaction out of someone. It would not advise some thing.

If she:
1) Teases you a lot
2) Is touchy feely with you
3) Smiles a lot when around you
4) Talks to you a lot
5) Asks you about what you like to do

If they touch you when they are talking to you, if they giggle around you or give you the eye alot. It also depends on the age of the girl. Just know this: you will never figure out women.

you will know if a girl is flirting with you when she makes like direct eye contact, or she does the "look down then back up lustfully" into your eyes thing.... she will ocasionally touch your arm.... like if you say something funny... or they will talk really loud so you WILL pay attention or her.... or she will like tease you, and kinda test you... .like if you say that you can throw a football the whole feild.... she would probably be like oh yeah.... well i can through it two... u know??? she will kinda compete with you.... or she will giggle..... a lot..... it might get annoying... just letting u know what we do....
but yeah... she will defanetly hang around you, and try to get your attention
