The Apocalypse Of Saint John
Chapter 21

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, they shall have their portion in the pool burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

My real age is 61. I joined the SDA church some years ago, feeling that I needed to to be in harmony with Scripture. I left it about 10 years ago for the same reason. The Almighty YHVH created this world very good. Once man sinned, he could no longer meet the requirements of YHVH. Because of His great love for man, He sent His son the Savior. The Savior's name means YHVH is my Savior!--YAHOSHUA! The only way one can have his sins taken care of is to invite the Savior in to carry them. If a person chooses to remain attached to their sins, they will be consumed in the cleansing fire the Almighty will send to cleanse this world so He can make it new! How could the Almighty be more generous?

To be truthful, I hope there is not a hell. However, when I read the Bible I am lead to believe there is one. I try to help people not to go there. If you really thought that people suffered, then I think that you would be inclined to tell people about Jesus. It is as awkward as it gets because doing so feels so unnatural, but I am in an existential catch 22. I know that people do not want to hear, but I believe that caring and loving another person means caring enough to say things they might not care to hear.

If people really and honestly believed in a literal Hell that you burn in agony forever and ever, and even thought it remotely possable to
go to such a place...Boy 0 Boy would about 99% try to get their act
together. But Its plain enough that people dont believe that. And to
quote the last part of your question "which means the second death"That is exactly what that means(death)non-existance,no
more.dust..........not a place of torment!! So you see you cant
expect to threaten people with HELL and scare them.

Your question exposes the overall lack of knowledge that exists regarding Christianity. Thank you for opening this topic for discussion. One will end up where one is led. It is about focus.Christians focus on a relationship with God made possible through the work of Jesus. Christians know about evil but that is not a primary focus. Good is the opposite of evil. God is good. Satan is evil. The more closely a Christian develops a relationship with their Heavenly Father, God, the more they know about Him, His Love, His Provisions...There is no need to threaten with evil. A Christian is covered by God's word.

Interesting.

As I stated in another answer yesterday, people who tell others that they are going to "burn in hell" usually do not really know much about hell. (That would seem to include you, btw.)

Another answer (tonight) said that most answerers in R&S are either mouthy pre-teens or grumpy old men in their 40's or 50's. I'll give you a bit of a hint: I'm in neither category.

And wow, I told the truth! What were you saying?

I am 19, and I am a christian but I do not threaten any one with hell fire, because I would not even pretend to have control over who gets in heaven and who does not. I leave that to a much higher authority.

29 and frankly, if the Christians who spout of about Hell will be in Heaven, Hell doesn't sound that bad. No more of their sermons and accusations. I'll take a tropical vacation with Aristotle over listening to Pat Robertson anyday!

God is referring to people who are false teachers of the faith that leads people astray. And I don't enjoy talking about hell, funny how it seems to me atheists bring up the subject all the time and them accuse us of talking about it all the time. Trust me if you were in a room full of Christians for 3 weeks straight I bet the subject of hell would never come up once.

THIS IS UTTER IDIOCY!~
IM 28 BTW, IT SAYS IT RIGHT THERE ON MY 360.

REAL CHRISTIANS DO NOT ENJOY HELL AND BRIMSTONE PREACHING....BUT SOME PPL NEED THAT KIND OF MESSAGE...IT ALL DEPENDS. SOME COME TO CHRIST THRU FAITH AND WHAT HE OFFERS, _FREEDOM FROM BONDAGE TO SIN. OTHERS, ARE HARD HEARTED AND NEED A KICK IN THE SEAT TO GET THE MSG ACROSS....BUT THAT IS SOLELY AT THE HOLY SPIRIT'S DISCRETION, NOT OURS.

I HOPE YOU WILL SEEK HIM,
^7^
