If you had 4 children, and one of them decided they wanted nothing to do with you, and they leave home and get into a life of crime and violence and end up eventually killing someone. Should you be to blame because you didn't "step in and do something?" Of course not, and neither should God!
Top three reasons people blame God......
3. Humans suffer from "blame syndrome". No one wants to take responsibility for their own actions, so it's easier to blame things outside of themself. Blame God for others actions, blame God for my own actions.
2. People want God to 'mind his own business' when it suits their purpose but when tragedy strikes, they somehow expect he is supposed to be involved.
and the number one reason is..........
1. They don't know God. They think they do.....but if they really knew Him, they wouldn't dare judge him for what others do.

One reason is because people don't want to take responsibility for their actions.
Secondly when something really bad happens, like death of a loved one, or atrocities such as mass murders etc., people will say "How could God let this happen". I think it reflects how hurt we are and it hits something at the core of our humanness. At the core of our humanity is our likeness to God. That would be our own hearts, our own souls, whatever you want to call it.
Because it is understood that God is supposed to represent love, how is it that someone who represents love could allow something terrible things to happen.
Thing is we were given free choice (don't think that was a good idea myself), and with that free choice has come all that is dark in humans. We make these terrible choices.
And unfortunately we are so good at our darkness we've forgotten that we are in the image of him. We are so good at blaming someone else for our own human frailties that we have stopped looking at ourselves as the core of our own problems.
Even those that espouse the teachings of Jesus have forgotten to keep looking inside themselves. Instead they keep telling people "read the bible" as if by doing that they are going to change. Change comes from within, always has, always will.

God gave us each free will, some of us just wish he hadn't. But God does know the choices that we are going to make before we make them, and if a person takes the time to blame god then they know he is real. God will give them understanding at the right moment and not before that. And once he gives us that understanding, that is when we begin to trust him.

If a person laughs at and mocks a homeless person a homeless person that is there decision not God's.When Hitler,Stalin,Castro,Zemin,The government of Sudan,Polpot and many others kill, torture, imprison and starve up to millions. They made the decision (freewill) and they will give account. So will the hater of the poor and the murderers of millions of unborn.A person can't pick and choose what hate, and persecution is bad and what hate and persecution and murder is Good and OK.(PC). Also crush an eagle egg or kill a unborn dolphin an see what response you get.

Man was made in God's image; and free agency (freedom of choice) is the biggest thing we have in common with Him. Angels lack free choice. It stands to reason that if we are made in his image with his ability to choose, and still choose evil and selfish things--then so could He. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He demands obedience and kills when he feels provoked. Alot of God's behavior would be insane by human standards (narcism, delusions of granduer, paranoia, psychotic breaks...). A sane person does not kill his "children" if they disapoint them. No one would make it past teen years, lol!

that is right...why is it God's fault for someones bad choice? Why do people blame God when they don't even want Him in their lives? God gave us 'free will'! People forget that, He may have put us here, but it's up to use what we do with the time we have.
good question!

How any people can conceive God to judge Him? You are right, but it is not easy for any men to suddenly become wise, so we wrongly judge each other out of our ignorance. In the passing of time, we will become more mature to recognize our limited knowledge and start learning more humbly and thoughtfully, we will reach amicable agreements to build a better world for all.

What about Harlequin-type ichthyosis? It is caused by a gene mutation that no human has any control over. A god that truly cared would never let a child be born with that horrific disease. It isn't caused by anyone's actions or choices.

Because one core tenet of virtually every religion is that mankind has an infected nature that needs healing. If Atheists accepted that tenet, they would naturally be pressed to accept the need for redemption and sanctification. Thus to keep that from happening, they blame God, and make it as if God is the one who needs redemption and sanctification.

Right. So, let's compare our comparison of God to humanity to, let's say, parents to their children. Now, a parent's intellectual capability compared to their child is less than the difference between god and us, correct? And we hold parents responsibility for their children because their children don't have the ability to make the correct choices right? So then, why wouldn't God be responsible for his children? He's a deadbeat dad and that's all there is to it.
