Immigrants take the most menial jobs. Someone has to do these jobs, and if we no longer had immigrants, people would fall down the chain of command and we would have poorer Americans.

Immigrants DO pay taxes in many ways.

Immigrants pay more in taxes then they consume in welfare and other social services.

Because immigrants take the icky jobs, they keep the cost of production way down. If all immigrants magically disappeared, the cost of EVERYTHING would sky rocket.

Sadly, most very successful economy has had a low class or even slave labor force. I think it's kind of cool that we are able to have this labor force and they are here by choice and they are hopefully able to use this opprotunity to provide more for their children.

Illegal immigration is an issue not of broken laws but a broken system. There were no major immigration laws in the US until the 1920's but there were laws/acts passed against certain groups back in the day (for example, the Chinese during the great expanision to the west)

Americans (not me because I'm not a ignorant fool) have always feared being overrun by immigrant minority groups such as the Irish, Italians, Greeks, Polish, and even Germans back in the day. The only difference between today and now is NOTHING execpt darker skinned immgrants

May God forgive us for our sins and have mercy on us all.

I have done a lot of projects on illegal immigration and have learned a lot along the way. When I first started out I was anti any immigration, but then I met a lot of people, did a lot of research and discovered the error of my opinion. While I now understand that the United States is a melting pot of cultures and immigration is a neccessity for our diversity, illegal immigration is still not ok. Any thing that is illegal is just that illegal. It is against the law and how could I possibly be pro anything that is against the law? I think that although it may be difficult to come to the U.S. or to become a citizen of the U.S. it's still not fair for the people who are legal or who are citizens and pay taxes to have to suffer the consequences placed upon society by the illegal immigrants. But that's just what I think :)

we need major reform before any decision is made on what to do with the illegals allready here that way we wont have a flood trying to beat a deadline then the ones here should all be documented immunized and be held accountable for all benefits,I dont believe they should be given amnesty but they should be allowed to put thier name on a list for citizenship at the very end of the list and people applying for citizenship wether allready hear illegally or not yet in this country shoould be able to bump them back on the list at any time if they have a usefull skill or are educated thesepeople arent entititled to anything so when we need you we'll let you know type of system, till then just pay us some taxes, there should also be legislation passed on the amount of remittance that can be transfered to their country show that you care about the US and keep your money here and maybe that will prove a little point to us americans

Why are immigrants the last minority in America that it is OK to hate?

You cant hate blacks, orientals, Italians, Irish people, Jews, Native Americans, or gay people. You can however say "I hate immigrants" and half of the people in the room will agree with you.

Why is it that whenever a call in show is about immigration every second caller says: "I don't hate immigrants BUT" and then proceeds to tell you all the reasons they hate immigrants?

Just as the Jews were not responsible for everything wrong in Nazi Germany immigrants are not the cause of every problem in America.

i assume there are specialists for companies: they get extra lower priced hard artwork for this reason much less expenses. illegals are looking jobs right here and companies hire them. con's -this one is perplexing - yet illegals won't be in a position to be tracked down except caught. yet another is illnesses; some illnesses might come right here. regularly, immigrants might desire to do medicals in the previous or whilst they get right here. besides the undeniable fact that, i think of this subject is trivial.

Being an immigrant myself, I think that it's just unfair to those who immigrated legally, waded through mounds of paperwork, just to see an illegal immigrant serve me food. Yes, you may say, "They're legal because they are obviously working there". But employers hire them nonetheless because they know they don't have to pay them much.

They are also a drain on the country's resources, as they use our schools, health care, Social Security, and other services, and yet they don't pay taxes. Someday I will invent a Star Trek-style teleporter...

I believe in no to illegal immigration, no to guest worker passes, no to amnesty, and YES TO DEPORTATION.

Individuals that are here illegally want some sort of "equal rights". They also say "we just want to work, we're not criminals". People seem to not realize that these individuals are here illegally - that is breaking the law. True, most of them are honest, hard working who just want a better life. That alone doesn't make give them equal rights. It's against the law for them to be here - that makes them criminals. Come here legally and no one will have a problem with it.

People also say that no American is willing to do the work an illegal immigrant is doing. That's not true. Pay an American an appropriate wage and I bet you they will do it. Employers say they will not be able to stay in business because they will lose employees (illegal immigrants). That's not true. Pay a decent wage and Americans will line up.

Pro....sending illegals back to there country of origin
Con...Letting illegals suck this country dry economically

What part of illegal immigration don't you understand? Would it be alright for me to go to the grocery store and fill up a shopping cart full of groceries and walk out without paying? That's what illegals are doing to our country. They are taking everything that is available, federal assistance, money, food, clothing, housing, education, medical care, and not paying anything for it.
Working under the table, they pay NO taxes, but still send money back to there homeland. The few who forge documents are cheaters and liars and are depriving thousands of legal immigrants a fair chance to come into this country and make a contribution to society. The mere fact that they refuse to assimilate, (learn English) is proof they are invading and not immigrating. Wake up America and stay on the ready. I will be leaving soon for another stint on the border, reporting to agents the whereabouts of illegals. We need you Americans to help us. Please, pray for our country, and contact your local minuteman organization to see how you can help. B. Patrol

I partially agree with Tiff. Illegal immigrants keep production costs down and they actually pay taxes for what they consume. For those reasons, it is a win-win situation of sorts. The companies like them and the governments like them too.
The only losing group is the legal immigrants, who suffer from the same immigrant stigma yet they have all the drawbacks that local citizens also have.

no to amnesty! deport all illegal alien criminals! jail employers who hire the illegal alien criminals!

Save our economy by getting rid of the criminals that sponge off the taxpayer!!!!! They don't pay taxes. The destroy your schools. They destroy our health care system. They bring in disease. They steal identities. They take jobs away from citizens. They DEMAND rights when they have none. Crime and drugs have increased.

THEY ARE DESTROYING AMERICA. WHAT PART OF ILLEGAL IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND?
