The "Christians" constantly cherry-pick the Bible of their particular sect. I decided to find a Bible verse on a subject much bandied about in our present age to show just how easily the Bible can be twisted. Especially when there is a difference in meanings of terms in different periods and also defective and dated translation.

James 2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing,
and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the
poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

Then follow it up with a Christ: See Jesus approves anyone who wears gay clothes. He doesn't think they're an abomination.

If the Bible is written under the guidence of the Christian God, He is surely slacking on the job. I guess He is off somewhere being Gay with Jesus.

Please state what Bible you quote as that makes a big difference in the words written. My quote is as correct as any. Y'all say the Bible is the literal truth....well this literal truth appears to come in many gay and different colors depending on the Bible's editors and translators.

The whole question was about how Some Christians Basterdize and Truncate the written words of Bibles to rationalize before others.

According to the Research Bible of Translations the word "gay" is directly from the original King James version. BTW, this research Book was done by Theological PH.Ds and all Bibles verified as authentic for their year and sect.

The bloody program, or I, clipped the word Christian's rationalizations. I ended up with Christ:

I didn't catch the error.

Cherry picking scriptures to support an argument is a collosally deceptive practice. I agree. I hate it when christians use all the blessings of scripture and apply it to themselves, then turn around and use all the curses to browbeat. Not a very appealing format.

NKJV, James 2:3 "and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, "you sit here in a good place," and say to the poor man, "you stand there," or, "sit here at my footstool,"

Now, the word that was translated as "fine" in my Bible and "gay" in yours (what version are you reading BTW?) is the Greek word "lampros" which means: "radiant, magnificent or sumptuous in appearance, bright, clear, gay, goodly, gorgeous white."

You do realize, don't you, that the word "gay" has changed meanings many times over the history of the language. What exactly do you think is meant by the statement "the gay 20's," do you assume that means everyone was homosexual in the 1920's? Gay mean happy back then, just as it meant "godly or radiant" a long time ago.

It has NOTHING to do with homosexuality.

Secondly, your statement: "Then follow it up with a Christ: See Jesus approves anyone who wears gay clothes..." is not true. That is NOT what is being said here in this passage. James is talking about how some people treat people differently based on outward appearance and if you keep reading, you will see that that is NOT the way Jesus would have us behave.
