Red, different sizes of raised areas. Like hives, but not uniform insize. Erythematous is red color. You can get this from viruses, and also allergic reactions. Try web md. they might have some more info on it.

erythema or erythematous simply means redness....
maculopapular is a compound word.... maculo coming from macules, and papular --- papule.. a macule is a lesion of the skin that is flattened or depressed...you call it macule if its less than 1 cm, if its greater than 1 cm.. you call it patch. papules are elevated lesions of the skin usually measuring less than 1 cm, if its greater than 1 cm.. it is called plaque........rash may connote pruritus or itchiness....... an erythematous maculopapular rash can be anything....in dermatology... you classify that as a primary lesion.... and you need to take a very detailed history and avolution of the lesions that will guide you in diagnosing dermatological diseases.
