My best friend left for boot camp on Jan 31st, 2007. I want to write him but I can't find the Chicago location he was talking about, could it be Great Lakes? He wasn't exactly sure either.

He was pretty freaked out when he left. How would I find the address (and whatever else I need) to write him an encouraging letter?

Thanks to all.

Unfortunately you will have to find out what Ship (Barracks) and which Recruit Division they are in. I have included a link that may help. Thier recruiter may have the information you need.

He's at Great Lakes. His recruiter either knows or can find out, but won't disclose that information to anywone other and a parent/spouse/next of kin.

Ask his parents. They should be hearing from him by now, since the first 2 weeks or so are getting their company assigned, etc.

in case you in basic terms come away with the lesson of 'One team, One combat' the RDCs are happy. each thing approximately bootcamp is designed around teamwork. you're consistently working with others. that's unusual, there is time for socializing. even though that's interior examining, evening watch status and different classes. that's exciting...that's exciting for what it relatively is. do no longer tension.
