Okay, I'm not an expert, but I do know that ionic heat in hair dryers helps your hair keep from frizzing out and adds shine So, it is quite possible that the ion button on your curling iron does the same.

the coating on the irons is supposed to help keep the heat from damaging your hair as much but if you use any iron too much it will still damage the hair. I have had different people have different results with the ion irons. they are supposed to smooth the hair and help with frizz and static.

This was my first time investing in more expensive flat irons. I used to use the Golden Hot line, but the irons (they were ceramic "plated")were no match for these. I did some research and read tons of reviews (from various web sites), and I must say that this product lives up to the hype. I was satisfied with how the transaction was handled as well. I received the product in a very timely fashion and it was worth every penny. I will be ordering from this vendor again. I would like to order another FHI iron, but a larger model.

It allows the company to charge more than for the ones without it... It doesn't make a difference - the heat is what matters.

to those that said its so your hair doesnt get frizzy they are right. but what it does is negatively charge the air and your hair with negative ions to cut down on static electricity wich makes your hair frizzy
