My dog ate my cats hairball (small part of hairball). Has this happened to anyone and what did you do? Thanks.

Yes it can hurt them because it blocks their intestines. I just went to my vet and they gave it sometype of medicine to make it vomit so they didnt have to do surgery. I know it sounds mean but the vets try to be the least invasive as they can.

If you are worried, give your dog some olive oil and the hairball will pass quickly.

Even as dog food will not exactly harm a cat, it is not the great factor for them to eat. Ultimately if I remember thoroughly it is going to rationale kidney problems. Dog and cat meals have very exclusive nutritious values but... I guess all of it depends upon if they are still eating their cat meals or no longer. I think the one logical solution right here is to feed your cats and canine separately. Discover a location that the cats are not able to get to to feed the canine, or simply feed it external.

my old cat god rest her soul used to get hairballs usually in the middle of the night at the foot of my bed where i was sure to step on them barefoot on my way to the bathroom, anyway

my dogs ate more than one of them and no harm have come to them, papaya tablets, papaya, pumpkin will all help the dog pass it unharmed and will help the cat from coughing them up too

good luck

Not a problem. A little fiber for the dog :) More gross than anything.
