I am flying to Argentina from California this summer and was wondering if anyone knew whether Delta or Continental would be the best choice for such a long flight.

Well, I would definitely say Delta.
In mid-December, I flew to Buenos Aires, on their route, Atlanta-Buenos Aires, and it was absolutely fabulous.
They have lots of footroom, and really great cabin entertainment.
The food was delicious, as well, and they dinner was big. In other words, they weren't cheap on food.
The flight attendants also seemed generally happy to do their jobs, (probably because Delta's international attendants are some of the highest paid in the industry), and they never seemed upset or unhelpful. They joked around and made sure that everyone was comfortable and happy on the flight.
You get a blanket, pillow, and an eye mask, with headphones also. The movie when I went was little miss sunshine, but you can check the Delta website for more information.
by the way, I flew first from Detroit to Atlanta, and then there was about a two hour layover at Hartsfield. So I guess you'll be flying to Atlanta first.
Good luck, and I really think that Delta would be the best choice!

I fly Continental every week for work, from NYC to San Francisco and back. It's a tough trip to make every week, but Continental does it better than anyone else...I've tried United and American, no way. Continental has excellent service, and is very rarely delayed. I'm a big fan. I haven't flown Delta in a few years, but I was not as happy with them, and usually just prefer to go with Continental for all my flights.

If you live in Atlanta, you might want to go Delta as you can get a direct flight.

However, in general, Continental's in flight service is as good as it gets in the US these days. I've flown both many times and I prefer Continental's service. But, on the other hand, Delta can offer a bit more leg room depending on the airplane. Check out seatguru.com for more detail.

I would go with Continental. CO has better service and the flight crews, especially the Houston-based crews, are fantastic. I like CO's planes better also.
