As has been said, it's because alcohol doesn't freeze...which is a bonus if you want to keep some things, like shooters and liquers very cold...some taste better when they are so cold they are almost icy.

Alcohol in the Liquor lowers the freezing point of the hard liquor. Because hard liquor contains a good percentage of alcohol, it lowers it lower then the temperature of the freezer, or whatever you are using.

Alcohol doesn't freeze, so the higher the percentage the lower chance of liquor freezing.

Hard liquor can freeze just not in your home freezer because the freezing point of ethyl alcohol is -117.3C. Beer will freeze because it has more water in it.

.The reason ...Is the molecular consistency of alcohol is different than water. We compare most things to the freezing point 32 degree's Fahrenheit.Alcohol is more stringent than H2O,Because alcohol has been homogenized,it's molecular structure has already been exposed to temperatures higher than boiling point.therefore it will not freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit. That makes alcohol impervious to freezing at 32 degrees. At temperature of absolute zero everything freezes but Mercury.

get it cold enough and it will. Home refrigerators do not get cold enoughto solidify the alcohol in most liquors, if you could drop the temp to say minus 80 degreeF, you might see a difference.
