As much as I would like to provide you with an accurate survey of our military might, those details are usually kept vague. Here is a clipped portion of a press release from the Whitehouse from 2004:
It is no longer relevant to measure America's war-fighting capability by the number of troops and equipment in a particular country or region. During the 1990s, our military began a transformation from the industrial age to the information age. In this age, reach, stealth, precision, knowledge, and combat power, and not just the size of forces, allow us to dominate the battlespace. We learned that small, highly trained and networked units, platforms, and even individual warriors can have an effect on the battlefield that was previously reserved for much larger formations. Today, one high-tech ship or tank or aircraft can deliver the same combat power that once required ten ships or tanks or aircraft.
So while this information may not be helpful, it does give you an idea of the complexity of the question you ask.

Even though my son just got out of the Army after 2 tours of duty in Iraq, he doesn't know the answer, so I'd suggest you go to your nearest Army recruiter and ask them that. You'll get the closest or most accurate information possible, or links to get that info. God Bless you.

Fort Bragg, NC Fort Campbell KY, Fort Hood TX..........on and on. There are like alot more than 5 years ago with what is going on in Iraq.
