I know everything is a big generalization, but come on. I'm willing to bet it's the only country that actually serves deep fried Twinkies without a health warning attached to it.

And you wonder why you're obese?

After looking at your picture it sure looks like your face has been deep fried. Americans don't deep fry everything. What rock did you climb out from dear. Why are you so disrespectful with your snobby attitude towards Americans. Next time you submit a question, please know what you are talking about.

XD! FCabanski, thank you for your answer. That is absolutely true, and it made me laugh at Sara's "obese" comment.

Sara, you're right to say that's a big generalization, and that's probably the only thing that you said that WAS right. Healthful eating habits are becoming more and more important to many Americans all across the country. You can tell by looking at major food chains such as McDonalds. Just look at what they have added as far as offering healthy options. A lot of chains are changing things like the oils they fry in and stuff like that as well. I'm not saying this is going to slim down obese Americans right away, but it's a start.

Personally, right now I'm healthy and in shape. But just because my metabolism hasn't let me down yet doesn't mean I'm going to wait around for it to do so. I exercise 3 times a week and have really started to crack down on my eating habits. To my friends and family, staying in shape and eating right is becoming more and more important as well.

"And you wonder why you're obese?"
No, I don't wonder. I know. There are many people with weight problems. But putting that title on our country is wrong. Don't YOU wonder what stereotypes I can label you and YOUR country with?

Actually...I just heard about the deep fried Twinkies and I think it was in another country....I know...it was on TV...the girl was showing France to viewers...they served it to her...I had never heard of it.

I think the deep fry thing is because of fast food places...they tend to deep fry a not of things

At home I don't think people deep fry so much...it is too much trouble.....but they do fry in a skillet.

And of course you are right...it is bad for your health.

America has the biggest contrast between obese and fit people in the world. It is people's choices to do what they want. Some people can eat fried foods because they are actively involved in athletics or something of that nature. The US is by far the leading promoter of High School sports and sports in general. It's people's choices whether to participate or not. Know what you can eat and what you can't and go from there.

Deep frying is a fast and cheap way to mass produce food for people who may not have time to cook or people who are too lazy to cook. But one of the biggest reasons it is so popular is because stuff that is fattening tastes good.

I would also like to add that the vast majority of Americans do not know how to cook, thus creating more need for fast food/ processed foods.

We're not so obese when we mop the floor with the rest of the world during the olympic games.

Anyway, they're only into that in some parts of the country. Places like California and New York tend to have more healthy foods available than places I've visited overseas.
