he started spraying or spotting? He was fixed when he was very young..so why did he start 2 and 1/2 yrs later??? How do you get him to STOP since that is what neutering was suppose to do?
HELP!! The dead center of my bed seems to be his favorite spot, but closing the door only makes him go for the carpet! Now what????? No changes AT ALL have happened in the house, so I don't think it was a stresser that started it. I need to figure out how to STOP this, getting gross with 3 little kids in the house.

Ok...caught him re-handed this time.
I do NOT think he is PEEING on my bed...
it does NOT smell like pee (yes I checked GROSS!! lol) It also has a red tint.
He gets LOTS of loving, attention etc...more than most cats, no big changes here, no little ones either. How do I make him stop 'marking'??

I had this very same problem. Every once and a while my cat will favor urinating on the bed as well. He now has not done it for months. But i notice that it was a territorial problem. I know that you have kids but do you have other animals. At time they may feel threatened and need to be reassured that the home is theirs as well. Some times children can scare and be mean to cats and other animals which would make this behavior more common. Sometimes they just need to be reassured that they are still your family as well. and they do it to get attention especially if it on a common surface of use by you. he needs your reassurance and love to help him stop this problem. I have 4 cats and a dog and i relized that as soon as i started paying attention to him again. he stopped right away. Animals get very jealous and since they cant speak to you nor understand you they have to get your attention some how.

He could be wanting to still find a mate. My cat does this, and it does get really annoying. Try locking it in its litter box room (if it is in it's own room) and expand the size by one room or hall at a time. If he leaks again, they lessen the size of the available space. That is what I did with my cat, and now he is doing better.

If he is urinating in the middile of your bed, then he is not "marking" teritory. He is telling you something. He has urinary track issues or kidney or bladder issues. You need to take him to the vet in order for this problem to be resolved.

He could have a urinary infection. Rule out medical before you assume behavioral. Then if it he is healthy, your vet can discuss the many behavioural options for this common problem.
