Hi Sandi.
I gained 85 pounds on medications. This amount of weight is not normal, but it does happen. I have heard about others gaining 100 pounds or more, in a group I attend.
It seems that MOST if not all these medications alter the metabolism and weight gain results.
It is also very hard to lose it once you have gained it, while still on the medicine. I try and walk everyday and eat healthy, but it comes off soooooo slowly.
Know you are not alone!

Hi Sandi...I am sorry this happened to you and I can empathize. What kind of medication are you on? While I did not gain as much weight as you did (I gained about 45 pounds) I know how frustrating it is to gain weight from a medication. Many antidepressants have side effects. Some cause weight gain/loss, cause dizziness or sleeplessness...even anxiety. It is really important for you to talk to the doctor who is prescribing this medicine to you so that they know that you believe your weight gain is from the medicine. I gained weight on both Remeron and Celexa. I finally got on a new medicine (Cymbalta) and I actually lost the weight I gained and a little more. Read the patient information that comes with your medicine and see if weight gain is listed as a side effect. You could also do a 'Google' search on the medicine to get more information. Good luck and I hope you find resolution to your problem.

that is alot of weight to gain on anitdepresants. I gained like 20lb and i have heard of others gaining around 10-40. Call your doctor. Also, if you are gaining weight and are not eating a ton then you should be evaluated for medical problems. Cushings disease can cause weight gain (it has other symptoms as well, search for info online). But there are other causes of wieght gain as well. See your doctor.

We disagree on many stuff yet in this we both agree. I also am an self sufficient and that i'd like to make certain a real average run on u . s . of america Elects open cost ticket. I doubt that u . s . of america choose would have a lot pull in this election yet through 2016 they could ok be the answer to both activities as they require that anybody who wins their open conventional must have as a vice chairman p.c.. someone from a diverse get mutually.

Well the anti depressant is obviously not working. You should talk to your doctor about obesity.

No that is not normal. You should see your doctor. Until then, think about putting down the fork.
