doesn't sound good...

Are you upgrading from OS 9 or an early OS X? Make sure your Firmware is all updated. Check the Apple support pages for your specific MacBook and/or your version of OS X.

Please write down EXACTLY what error numbers and messages that you get, because my searches based on what you've entered here were not productive.

I have found the people on the Apple Discussions pages very helpful. http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa

Hello whispurr_on_scream,

First off, I'm terribly sorry to hear about your difficulties. This sounds very unusual and might need some experts. You may need to take this to your local Macintosh dealer to have someone take a look at it. Could this be a hard drive problem? I'm not sure, but the Mac guys should be able to help you.

Best of luck to you.

There are a few things you should've done before installing OS X or maybe your disc had errors before trying to Install.
