Looking back on my life I think I stopped acting like a child at about 24 years old. But even at 30 I am still a little spoiled and childish. It varies from person to person. I think it has to do with responsibility. Some 18 year olds have too much responsibility to act childish. Some of us like being big kids. Also when I matured to the state that I am in now is when I quit blaming other people for my life and my actions.

For some reason Americans tend to place boundaries on stages of life. We want to know the beginning and the end in black and white. This is not applicable in the case of individual development. For legal purposes, there must be a set age at which we take on adult responsibility, however according to research provided by the YMCA child abuse prevention program, puberty can actually last well into the mid 20's.
I know that I referred to myself as "Just a little kid" until the day my father died. That's when I knew I truly entered the adult world.

My beloved Mother used to tell us all, that we were always going to be her children and she didn't care how old we were. I am 47, my sister is 36 and my brother is 35. Our Mother also had four step children who she always considered her own and they were ages, 61, 54, & 53 when she passed away last year. We also had a sister who died in an accident at age 34. So I guess you could pick any of these numbers or just say that we never stop being someone's children. After all we are all, God's children.

Oh, yet i won't agree....this is all bearing directly to the youngsters....as a commodity. there is not any longer a financial advantages in grandparents being guardians, yet there is for adopting them out from foster care. The gay couple gets money, the state gets money. the only ones who usually won't be in a position to get money is the kinfolk that steps as much as the plate. i think of that the "maximum suitable activity of the youngster" place is yet another a sort of benign sounding agendas that all human beings would be in choose of, besides the undeniable fact that, it contraptions the government up as en loco parentis, and undermines the kinfolk. The kinfolk unit is the inspiration of our society and could be secure particularly of being exploited. And, as Sunny suggested, helping gay Rights is one element, yet no person has the wonderful to undertake. with a bit of luck, with the recent administration, concern, hatred and non secular fervor won't rule the political time table and funky heads would be triumphant.

To most Parents you're always a Child.
In fact, you are theirs.
By Law you are old enough to be responsible of
your action at 18.
Adult immaturity, some people are this way all their
lives.

Never.... parents will always see their kids (no matter the age) as those little kids who use to climb in bed with them, and pull on their leg. I'm 20 yrs. old I've had the same job for 2yrs. and my mom still tries to pick out my clothes.
