In Australia we all have Medicare Cards, so we can go to the doctor for free.(There is a levy on this if you are working). If you are not working then you are issued with the Health Care Card, and that allows you to see some specialists for free, and allows you to get very cheap prescribed medication.

Our heath care system is pretty much non-existent. If a person has a good enough job to have insurance, then that person will be well taken care of. We can go to any doctor, of our choice, if we pay cash or have insurance. If an emergency--life threatening--arises, and we have no insurance, the hospital has to treat us, but we will be paying them for the rest of our lives. People on disability can get free health care. Otherwise, we're screwed, and that, my friend, is a LOT of Americans. So, yes, you heard right. Medicare and Medicaid is not provided to every citizen. It is provided to certain elderly people, and to certain people on disability.

Here in the USA if you are indigent, you can get free health care. The great thing is that if I need an operation I can get the very best doctor to do it, and I don't need to wait for a year.
The bad thing is that if you make too much money you might not qualify for free health care, but you still cnat afford to pay for it.

No there is no free medical in the U.S. and insurance and prescription drugs are probably the most expensive in the world, preventive health care is unheard of, typical cost for insurance is $350 and up a month and $1500 and up deductible, so unless it is a major problem a person pays out the pocket before ins. kicks in...most of the money in the U.S. go for war war war..and oh yea, vacations and high salary's for the politicians..
