I'm not too sure about the whole alcohol thing but try jumping on the one foot (the right foot for your right ear being clogged and the left foot for the left ear being clogged) and do that for awhile while plugging your other ear. That always would work for me, if not I guess try the alcohol...?

I recommend mixing 2-3 drops of white vinegar with 2-3 drops of rubbing alcohol, then putting this in the ears. The alcohol is water-soluble and increases evaporation. The vinegar acts to prevent fungus and bacterial infections. This is fine so long as your eardrums are intact (no tubes or injuries).

The peroxide trick is not for water. It is for wax buildup. The bubbling action scours the ear canal. The peroxide can be irritating, so I advise people to mix it with an equal part of olive oil to dilute it and make the solution thicker (also helps the chunks of wax to slip out).

According to the Mayo Clinic, you can put a mixture of 1 part white vinegar with 1 part alcohol and pour 1 teaspoon of the solution into each ear and let it drain back out. They say that this mixture may help prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi.

This assumes that you don't already have an ear infection, ear tubes etc.

I have used alcohol and peroxide both. I would use the peroxide to boil it out to loosen anything in the ear and clean it out. I have also used alcohol to dry it out if I had water in the ear. I have always used the same methods on my kids. Hope this helps!!!

I believe alcohol floats on water...could be wrong, probably am. ;)

However, there are easier ways than having someone else pour alcohol in your ear.

I've always used my fingers (Tilt head, place index finger at opening of the ear canal, and vigorously move back & forth across opening.)

use a q-tip never ever put veg-oil or proxide in your ear it could do more harm than having the extra water in your ear. or go to a doctor and have them cleaned out and checked for infection if you are that bothered by it

you shouldn't put anything in your ears. Chew some gum, that works sometimes. the water in your ear will eventually leak out if you leave it alone.
