I hit something on the remote for my Denon AVR-1603 and lost the sound in TV mode. All other modes (DVD/tuner/VCR) are working properly and it acts like it works just fine in TV mode--volume control, muting, etc--but NO SOUND!! We have checked all the inputs and everything is hooked up fine. I have pushed every button on the remote, hoping to reverse whatever I did. But, alas, no such luck. Any ideas?

Ther is nothing magic about the "TV mode". It is just another input with a "TV input" label so it is easy to remember what you connected.
Switch the TV output to another AVR input, say DVD. Do you get audio input? If yes, the TV is OK, and you really messed up that TV input. If not, maybe you switched audio off on the TV.

If the TV is OK, check back the TV input mode. Maybe it is in a mode not supported. Try "auto" or "PCM" or analog audio.
(Perhaps you have it to expect audio from a digital port, but audio comes in stereo analog).

make sure you havent selected a input mode that isnt hooked-up from the tv. i have a panasonic witch is in the same family of recievers. if the digital or 6-channel input is selected and you have an analog hook-up(red & white wires), you'll have to find out how to put it back into analog input mode and vise versa. the best solution is to look it up in the reciever's manual under trouble shooting section.
