I posted a messege earler, but I need to add something to that messege. I am 5'1" and 80-85 pounds, and I'm 13. I don't know if I am naturally thin or not because I try to gain weight, but I seriously can't. Whenever I eat something, I lose a pound or more, and I was thinking, "Oh, maybe if more, then I will gain like 10 pounds or something." I was wrong. I was losing more weight, and this is how I ended up being 80 pounds. I HAVE gone throught puberty and I still haven't "developed."
I wear a size 8 long in girls and a size extra small in abercrombie shirts.

I actually think that people that weigh more than me look better. Whenever I go to the beach, it is embarrassing. People look at me all of the time. I usually wear bikinis. My hip bone sticks out, and my ribs show. I seriously don't like the way I look. I want to gain weight, and fast. I am tried of people looking at me strange. What should I do?

As long as you eat healthy there is really nothing to worry about. Honestly though? The grass is always greener on the other side- meaning, you always want what you can't have. You might be wanting curves, the other girls might be jealous of your small frame. The thing to do is to love yourself the way you are. You are who you are- be in love with the body you were given and be happy that you don't have anything medically wrong with you! I'm sure you're beautiful, funny, outgoing, and people love to be with you. If others look at you as you say they do- GOOD! Smile back and be proud of who you are!

The most important thing is to accept you as you. Embrace what you were given!

Hi. At your age, hormones can really affect your metabolism. First of all, I think it would be a good idea to have yourself checked out by a doctor. There are many ways for you to do this. First, if you can, talk to your parents, and tell them you want to have a visit with the doctor. Most doctors feel that at your age you should have a "private" visit with the doc to discuss things on your mind. If you do not feel comfortable talking to your parents about this, do you have an aunt or other close relative you can talk to who can help you see a doctor? If not, then go to the school nurse and talk to her about the problem, and ask for her help finding a doctor to check you out. Then, I recommend that you keep a food diary. This will help the medical professional help you get at the root of the problem. If all checks out physically, it could very well be that you are not eating as much as you think you are. Are you physically very active, play sports, etc? If so, at your age it can take a LOT of calories to keep up with your metabolism. But please, do get the help you need. It is so important that you feel good about your body, and have someone to talk to about what you are feeling. Good luck to you!

Try this: eat later at night. That is a method used by Sumo Wrestlers in Japan. They eat just before then sleep, then put on lots of weight. Also, try eating larger meals in general, three a day. Avoid snacking, because this will give you more energy.

For you, you should probably avoid sweets. Eat more fat and cheese. In fact, become a cheese buff. All dairy products will help you put on weight. Be lazy.

These suggestions might not make you much healthier, but it will help you to accumulate weight on your body.

i dont think it absolutely necessary that you see a doctor but i would want to. i would talk to your parents and tell them that you want to gain weight and maybe even go to a diet specialist that can help you eat food to gain weight. (if you go to the doctor they could prolly recomend somone)

i hope that helps because if you continue to lose weight you could become very unhealthy. having a weight that low can make you really fatigued and is not good. good luck.

just stand there.

You'll be fine. There's nothing wrong with you at all, you're just naturally thin.
Don't worry about it, you'll be fine.
