"...with God,..." like others have pointed out!

And, yes, these are the opening verses of the Rig Veda as well!

The "Om" sound, incidentally is actually "Aum" and needs to be done in a certain fashion with the "A" starting from under the navel and rising to the "U" which comes near the heart and ending with the "M" reverberating in the nostrils.

This chant, incidentally, has great therapeutic properties and is an ideal exercise for good health. To achieve the spiritual dimension with the chant is a very difficult thing and I don't think there's any living practitioner who's achieved that yet!

As to the Big Bang, I don't think anyone can answer you because it way before anyone was around to hear it's sound!

All the best!

Cheers!

In the scripture quoted (John 1:1) the word "word" is the Greek word "logos". It does not refer to something spoken or a sound, but rather to something that is the expression or representation of another thing.

For example, when you see the "Coca-Cola" emblem, you immediately think of the soft drink by that name. That is the origin of the English word (and concept) of a "logo".

In the scripture, it is not talking about a "sound", but rather about a being who is the "expressed representation" of God. Elsewhere in scripture he is called "the image of God" (Philippians 2:5, 2 Cor 4:4, "the face of God revealed in Jesus" (2 Cor 4:6) "the image of the Invisible God" (Col 1:3), "the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Col 2:9) and other similar titles.

In goes back to a philosophy advanced by Plato. The idea that everything on earth is merely a "reflection" of a perfect original in the spirit realm. John, writing to a Gentile culture that was familiar with the works of Plato, presents Christ as that "logos" - that perfect reflection of God manifest in the world. Jesus was able to be the "logos" because at one time he was not only with God, but was God. He then became flesh, and brought that perfect revelation of God to us.

It has nothing to do with the sound of the "big bang" or a hindu cosmic "om". There is no sound involved in the concept of the "logos".

The writer of the Gospel used the word "Logos", which is translated as "Word". Some say that "Logos" was not thought of until the second century, but they are very poor scholars. Logos is traced back to Sumerian cuneiform, the oldest written language known to man, and "Logos" is older than the name "God". Logos is not a Jewish thing, so obviously the writer is directing his gospel to the Gentiles more than the Jews, or at least by the introduction.

The idea of "the Word" was to convey God's essence. The "Word" was synonymous with "Truth" and it also parallels the concept of God being called "I AM" in the Old Testament.

So to rephrase the statement, it might be read as, "In the being was the Essence, and the Essence was God" and later "and it dwelt among us" and was Christ. So in other words, it is talking about how God is simply "Being"

This passage does not really deal with Creation. But in short, the idea is that since God transcends nature (by being supernatural) and not made up of physical components, and being Infinite and not bound by time, he created Time, Space and Matter, in other words God caused the Big Bang.

Mans theory is the bib bang theory. The word of God speaks nothing of a big bang theory. The word is Jesus. Let the bible speak.

Jhn 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Here's a loose expanded paraphrase from the Greek:
Verse 1:
en arche: At the time of the beginning,
hen ho logos: the Word was in a continual state of existence,
kai ho logos hen pros tov Theon: and the Word was in a state of intimate intercourse with (the) God
kai theos hen ho logos: And the word was, as to His essential nature, divine.
Next verses read again, literally from the Greek:
Verse 2:
This one, was in a continued state of existence in intimacy with God.
Verse 3:
All things (severally) came into being (through His intermediate agency)
And apart from Him, not one single thing which came into being and exists, came into being.

Verse 14: "And the Word became flesh, and pitched His tent among us, and we calmly and thoughtfully beheld the glory of Him, glory as of an only-begotten One from a Father, full of grace and truth."
Jesus Christ is "the lost chord", if you will, who restores man to harmony with the Creator God.

how can any one keep the big bang theory in mind, while there was no big bang mentioned in the Bible, you are quoting the Bible, the Bible says in the beginning God said "Let there be light" and there was light, thus God created every thing by HIS WORD, John bears witness says Jesus is the WORD, and through HIM all things were created.

The word is Jesus Christ. look decrease back in Genesis and you will see evidence of him there, as God says, "enable us to make guy in our image." The word grew to become into God is evidence that Jesus is a factor of a triune God, as are the daddy and the Holy Spirit.

From time immemorial, the One True God creates all worlds and all creatures out of His love for all to love and worship Him. He gradually discloses this supreme truth through His successive Messengers in Their Holy Books. No human generations can conceive the whole concept of creation to pass it on like passing a precious Jewel. All have been expressed in symbols, parables, analogies...And this divine education has raised mankind to an ever-advancing civilization from family to tribe, to city state, nation, and now to world federation...
Along history, various philosophical theories have been developed and contributed to the clarification of this truth, but none is perfect enough to claim exclusive possessors of truth.
At this age of maturity of mankind, with the development of world means of instant communications and powerful organizations, we can use peaceful consultations to reach agreements in building world unity, peace and prosperity until the moment we get in contact with other higher civilizations in the universe. And God will send another Messenger to teach us how to raise our civilization to the cosmic level to ever more...

Actually it's "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
The Word that was with God and was God is Jesus. Jesus and all those things you listed didn't have anything to do with each other.
