Almost all successful attempts to lose weight involve doing two things.
1) Reduce calories. Easy to say, but hard to do. What works for many people is to eat whatever you like but much much smaller portions. like 1/2 to 1/4 of what you would normally consume. To do this remember to stop eating when you are no longer hungry. That's a lot different than stopping eating when the food is gone or when you are full. Stay away from sugar, NO sodas, drop the caffeine, it will just make you hungry. Cut out the salt. NO snacking. You're not a cow, you don't need to graze.
2) Increase your physical activity. I don't know what kind of condition you are in now, so I can't say that one type of exercise will be more beneficial than another. That said, no matter what condition you are in, get some ankle weights and wear them all day.
You need to do both calorie reduction and increase physical activity at the same time. If you don't exercise your body will begin to burn muscle when you cut your calories. The net result of that is you might weigh less but you'll feel horrible, have no energy and not be very healthy.
Forget the diet pills. The only place diet pills will help you lose weight is in your wallet.
One last thing. Muscle weighs more than fat. If you cut calories and increase exercise you may actually temporarily gain some weight. But muscle takes up much less space than fat, so you will look much more toned and trimmer. So the question is this: Do you want to lose 15 lbs or do you want to get into last years jeans?

Cut your arms off.
If that doesn't work, try this, it works everytime no matter what body type you have.
1. Put down the junk food
2. Eat less calories than you burn each day.
3. Look to the food guide pyramid for how much and which foods to eat.
4. Exercise regularly (at least 3 times a week for 45 minutes)
5. Get proper rest. (8 hours a night)
6. Sit back and laugh at (or feel sorry for) all those fat people spending all their money on the latest fad diet book hoping to find some shortcut, easy way out to a healthy body when in fact the real easy way is staring them right in the face for free! There are no tricks. Just eat right, sleep right, exercise right and you will magically have a better body....who woulda thought!
also, you can read my answer to the last question i just answered right before yours. It was on the same subject...losing weight...however, it was to a boy, but it applies to you as well...everything accept the lifting weights comments..
i'm assuming ur a girl...unless ur a guy with the name ashley...which is...what it is...

The best way would be to adopt some healthy habits that gradually change your eating and exercise habits to ones that you can sustain. You'll need to burn (BMR + exercise) 3,500 calories more than you eat (food calories) to lose 1 pound of fat. If you do this gradually over the next several weeks, your chances of long-term success will be pretty high. Why? Because you'll have formed some new habits...good habits...like eating right...walking...running...etc... These crash diets where you lose weight quickly appeal to the impatient nature in all of us, but they don't instill any good habits..and sadly, most people end up slipping back into their comfortable ways after these fad diets. Take the path of habit changing....it'll pay off (& in time for beach-season, too ;-).
