It's no big deal if Iraq goes down in defeat. It won't affect me. ( Note: We lost Vietnam and the USA is still here....The Communist didn't come into my town and kill me.)

Let me preface this by saying that I thought going into Iraq was a mistake, and still think so. However, we did invade and we did destroy much of their infrastructure and their entire government. I believe that we have some duty to rebuild.
I think that it is time that the Bush administration admitted that we were wrong, and ask for other countries in the region, notably Syria and Iran, to help us stabilize Iraq so that we can leave. I also think that the Bush administration will never make such an admission.

it's not the actual fall of Iraq that I am worried about. It is the re-invasion we will go through when we pull out and one of their neighbors or terrorist groups occupy it.

Only difference is that my chance of being killed goes from about 20% to 80% because they will have the cities reinforced and prepared this time.

No...I want Iraq to prevail, so me and my brothers and sisters don't have to go back in there any time soon.

great question. I believe that there is no worst terrorist than the us government who wrongfully believes to be the police of the world and invades any country they feel like specially if they have valuable resources (oil). I'm also sure that with all the absurd amount of money and lives they have threw to waste they could have done a lot to make this a better more healthy and peaceful world. No country would hate US as much as to do what happened in 911 if it wasn't for all the abuses, attacks, killing and horror the us has cultivated through out the world.

I can't believe most all of the answers above mine. How can people not care about the fate of the Iraqis, or any other group of people. The US presence there is helping to stop civil war. Imagine the number of Iraqis that would die in a full-fledged civil war. The shia fighting the sunni, the Kurds fighting both... tens of thousands of people would die.

And for you Americans that said you didn't care, would you really say that to say, a family member of a soldier who died in Iraq? Would you tell them you don't care what their son died for? Over 3000 of OUR soldiers have been killed there fighting for America and that's how you support them? You are a traitor in my eyes. I wish we would start pressing sedition charges on you hippie pacifists.

Yes, I care. If Muqtada al Sadr takes over Iraq we may face more problems in the future from Iraq than we faced when Saddam ran the place.

It wasn't Vietnamese or Soviet or Chinese policy to carry out terrorist attacks on the US. That's why the Communists didn't come to your town and kill you. But the radical Islamists just might.

The percentage of non Christians on Q&A is so much higher than I thought. I care as we are talking about the mass murders of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. I am amazed by the number of answers that do not care about them. The women & children will be raped & murdered just like before the war.
Yes I care about innocent people in all countries.

You moron. The Vietnamese didn't have sleeper cells here like Osama does. The VC stayed in their corner of the world because they got what they wanted, but the zealots see America as enemy #1. You forget what they did on 09/11/2001.

Do you think they'll stop after we leave Afganistan and Iraq? They will probably knock off Saudi Arabia and control most of the oil.

I care. The communists didn't slam 2 airplanes into the World Trade center either.

It'll give the terrorists a sense of victory which will spur them into resuming major attacks on the USA itself. What if the next one was in your hometown?
