The purpose of Buddhism is to teach ways to reduce suffering in the world by right action and right thought. It is not about reducing the suffering of others, by force or any other way, unless those looking for answers ask for them and choose to accept them.
We do not look to save anybody else because they can find their own path which may be different but not less than ours. We do not make war as Buddhists nor preach any fixed dogma.
The only way I can see that this could be considered to contribute to human suffering is if the lack of fear of an omnipotent God would lead people to immorality. I do not believe that people are so weak as to need this fear to realize what right action is. Buddhism does not even deny people the right to worship God or Gods in any way they choose. There is no conflict between the philosophy of Buddhism and any religeous belief which does not try to harm others.
I don't really think that Buddhism does lead to an increase in suffering of humanity.

Buddhist does not kill, so it may be a suffering to the killer.
Buddhist does not steal, so it may be suffering to the thief
Buddhist does not commit adultery, so it may be a suffering to the womanizer.
Buddhist does not lie, so it may be a suffering to the liar.
Buddhist does not take alcohol, so it may be a suffering to the alcoholic.

Buddhists find freedom of suffering from within them selves by developing their mind. It may be a suffering for the rest who begs help from an unseen supremo.

Buddhist thinks differently, so it may be a suffering to the old type thinker.

Buddhists could possibly be persecuted for being Buddhist, and not some other religion, which would increase their own suffering, I suppose. Other than that, I've got nothing. Buddhism is pretty cool like that.

Atheists are human beings, they convey about suffering and help alleviate it the comparable way non secular human beings do, even nonetheless I do think of extra human beings have began conflict or died in the call of religion than have in Atheism. all and sundry can alleviate suffering with compassion, love and charity.
