It could be a type of fungus. Or another possibility you can play with, would be that your cat has mites. Whatever the case may be, it would be wise for you to call your local vet. They can give you answers without having to bring your cat in if the problem isn't one that a doctor would have to look at before giving a diagnose. As far as the wheezing, I had an orange tabby and she was the most adorable and fat but not over wieght cat ever, and she used to wheeze at night. Like mine, it could be that she is just a big cat and when she lays in a certain position like ours did where the airway is partially blocked, it makes them tend to either wheeze or snore. Hope she gets better!

Sounds like a sinus problem. I don't think it's fatal at all. I would take the cat to the vet. I'm sure that there is something that the vet can give her to clear it up. My cats always make strange noises when they sleep, they always weeze and they are very healthy. One of my cats has a lot of black goo all over her eyes, but she's a persian with almost no nose, so can't really go by her.

I would suggest taking her to the vet, it sounds as though she has some type of an infection or respiratory breathing problem and your vet Can figure that out. If it was only in the eyes it wouldn't be so bad but coming out of the nose it sounds like she needs to go to the vet, cats can have sleepy seeds in there eyes to but not in there nose, and cats can snore and have dreams making funny noises but this sounds a bit more serious so i would just take her to the vet to be on the safe side. Don't give your cat human medication as it can be very fatal. Best of luck.

You do need to take her to the vet. There are several things she could have....an upper respiratory infection or even a parasite. She could even be allergic to catnip (or catnip could make it worse).

Sadly though, it sounds like it is a very bad case. Prepare yourself--you can treat it, but this is not going to be a one shot treatment. You're goinig to be going through probably three or four rounds of medications (I hope your cat will take meds.)

My kitten came with an awful URI (I think he was a Katrina kitten, and who knows what kind of junk he inhaled!). When I adopted him, he got two shots (prepare yourself for these too....they are painful shots that are given in the cat's back area...one on each side). He was also given an anti-biotic syrrup that he had to take for ten days. At the end of that time, he was still not well, so I took him back, and got another course of treatment. It took four treatments over 8 months. But Gus is now a healthy cat--and I have not had to pick his nose for a couple of months .

I did go through much tears on this--I was very scared that he would not make it....and it was so close to when I had had to put a 15 year old down for liver cancer.

I would get her in to your vet right away because of the black discharge. The wheezing (although she may have asthma or allergies) could actually be snoring. Does she make the wheezing sound when she's awake? My cat snores all the time when she sleeps. The vet said there's nothing wrong with her, some cats just have small nasal passages like some people do.

sounds like a possible upper respiratory infection...nothing to worry about if it is, in that i mean if you will take her to your vet, he will most likely examine her and send you home with some amoxidrops and your cats will be fine...left untreated it could probably go into pneumonia. the amoxidrops are quite easy to give, you grasp the cat by the scruff of her neck and with the tip of the dropper work at her teeth til they open up. slide the tip of the dropper towards the back of the tongue and the back teeth and release the contents...never squirt it directly down the throat as the cat could choke on it. i have 13 cats (mostly rescue kitties) and my mom has 1...of all of them, Gizmo actually adores the taste of the amoxidrops. she thinks its treat time when she must take them.

Difficulty breathing? Black woozy crusts? In eyes and nostrils? Does not sound good. Best take your kitty to seee the vet, dear... don't prolong it becuase most ilnesses are better treated and cured when caught early. I am guessing but kitty may have a sinus infection.

surely everyone has pointed you to the links to examine asserting that canned is greater ideal, so i will no longer repost them. i visit characteristic this nevertheless - I see an undesirable lot of vets, many greater desirable than the conventional individual. Vets who've endured their training (my own vet attends a minimum of four weeks of veterinary conferences a year), and vets that are greater presently out of school, all now propose an all-canned eating recurring for his or her tom cat shoppers. So the main modern examine does decrease back up the values of feeding a canned eating recurring. training on the thank you to shop money on top rate ingredients: EVO makes a thirteen ounce can it is totally maximum economical to feed. examine to work out if this is obtainable. and there is the glaring - look ahead to sales. well being *does* circulate on sale, quite on the smaller chain puppy shops. There are different nice ingredients that are low-priced. One is organic stability (my cats love the extremely style), yet another is fowl Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul (good nutrition yet my cats do no longer like it). and you will substitute up with a low-priced yet nonetheless intense high quality type - Petsmart's Authority type is amazingly good. no longer the comparable classification as well being, yet whats up - in case you feed one million/2 Authority and one million/2 well being, you would be saving money and not shortchanging them. money is tight for each individual, so do no longer sense undesirable approximately desirous to do what's maximum suitable to your cat, yet nonetheless no longer circulate broke each and every time you circulate to the puppy shop. I look ahead to sales - and because i take advantage of different top rate manufacturers, they'll consume greater of what's on sale at a given think approximately time. final month it grew to become into Blue Buffalo, previous to that by utilizing Nature Organics. they are happy, they are ingesting top-high quality canned nutrition, and that i do no longer circulate particularly so broke.

It sounds like allergies. Unfortunately, with cats you have to be careful what you give them, so you can't just give her allergy pills. You should check with your vet. I have a dog that has similar issues and it is allergies with him, I realize a cat is different, but the crusty eyes, stuffed nose and breathing seems like allergies. I hope this helps.
