how do we stop over-population in america?

America has some severe overpopulation in smaller areas, such as Los Angeles, and some moderate overpopulation in larger areas, such as California and New Jersey, but as a whole, the US still has one of the lowest population density in the first world (following only Canada and Australia, I think).

The American ecosphere is not a separate entity from the rest of the world. All ecosystems in the world interact. We're kidding ourselves if we think that stopping immigration will save the environment here if it does nothing to alter the total population of the world. And incidentally, scientists are reported that the total glabal population seems to be stabalizing on its own at this point in history. Birth rates in Latin America have dropped and stabalized due to cultural factors. The population in Africa has dropped, substantially in some countries, due to war and HIV. The population in India is stabalizing due to population pressure. The population of China is stabalizing due to government involvement in the issue. There are still a few countries with high rates of increase, but they are not the countries from which we get the majority of our immigrants.

We wont do it. We are a free nation and this is one of it's draw backs. Even with abortions and birth control, we are steadily growing as a people. We worship those like Angelina Jolie for her Mother Theresa-like saving the infant orphans of other countries (however noble it truly is) will just continue to repopulate America. And we have the so-called bleeding heart liberals (not my term, but what else can I call them?) protesting any death what so ever. BUT Mother Nature, and all of her little tricks, even things such as micro-killers may be able to. With new diseases popping up and the earth quaking, exploding and and causing domino effects of disaster, we may well be on our way to near depletion. It wont happen by the hands of people, it will be nature who will take it's course, if it happens at all.

Too late it is already overpopulated. We can not meet the needs of the people here if we had too. We can not grow enough food to feed or care for the people. We are a dependent Nation now on others for food, energy,some medical and a few other things. . What we need to do is give it a rest until we can become more self efficient. That would included not adding to our population if we don't have too.

Now if someone would give us more room and we can "correct" much of this--that would be different. Should be a concern of all who live here-its the future of theirs and their children.
