It is rather funny that you put it that way since they plagiarized the ten commandments from several other sources most notably the Code of Hammurabi.

No, we don't "own the copyright", there is not any copyright. No, we don't think of a guy or woman must be Christian in the event that they have values and/or morals. many human beings of all faiths (or loss of religion) have extraordinary values and/or morals.

Hi. I am a Christian and we do not have the market on morals. Actually God put it in all human beings to have morals but man in his weaknewss has interpeted morals in his own way wether it is throuhg religions, humanism anism. We know internally what is right and wrong but we seem to justify what we are doing. hat is why even priests do immoral hings. We all commit sin but thank God that he can forgive us and asks that we pay the price for restoration. So all fall short on morals ome make a big thing through being religious like the guy on CNN. The key is when we fall into daRKNESS REALLY THE ONLY PERSON THAT CAN PULL US BACK OUT OF THE MIRK IS JESUS. THINK ABOUT IT WE HAVE GOOD COUNSELING BUT WE SEEM TO ALWAYS FALL BACK INTO THIS AREA OF WEAKNESS. remember we were all created by God but not ev eryone choose to live by His standards. If someone tells me they live a good moral life , I wonder what are their secrets. I have had immoral decisions but yet today I am forgiven and strengthened by God. All you whoevers have a good day and think about what I have said . Can we truly live a moral standard that we beleive in without a higher being(God) to strengthen us. Aloha is His gift to us.

Morals are as old as God. Christians follow God, theoretically. i think everyone, nonchristians included are imbued with a sense of right and wrong--humanity was created in god's image after all. As a Christian, I personally have never, ever claimed non-christians are without morals.
God owns the copyright to the morals while the rest of us all flub our way through, making our own moral and immoral choices along the way.
What I think I *can* say is that those who reject God and his teachings are more likely to be self-serving and act in ways contrary to God's standards. (Note--I said "more likely". I've met some incredibly moral non-christians and shockingly immoral Christians in my time. Never anyone perfect, though.)
Christians (hopefully) aren't trying say they have the "copyright", as you put it. Just the truth, which you apparently reject, at least in part. The real question, then, is whether or not "truth" in terms of morality, is relative. I cannot believe so.

I agree. "Atheists are scared of accountability and morality" is a dismissive statement made by religious people who don't want to listen or try to understand how anyone thinks or feels outside of their own little bubble. Personally I would rather be a good person because the goodness comes from my heart, than be good because I'm afraid of some punishment if I'm not. Goodness isn't really good if it's simply motivated by fear, is it? I think if there IS a God, even he would agree with that.

Christianity is based on Judaism, and Judaism is based on ancient Iranian paganism. It can be traced back to cave men. I will not get into great detail, because it is late. But, basically, we evolved morals because in a group of social animals (as humans are) looking out for each other helps the species survive. Empathy is the basis for it all. It is no more than and evolutionary characteristic.

Whether it is one or one thousand, you shouldn't paint such a broad stroke on Christian thinking in general. Morales are not based on any one persons theology. Athiest have become just as pushy and insistant than any of the Christians that they decry. They are pushing their views and wants just as hard as any organized religion out there. If I am wrong in this, why are so many athiest on these sites argueing and letting their views be heard? Surely there are sites where others of your views can meet and exchange ideas?

Yes and they are dead wrong allow me to quote from the Philosopher& Poet Friedrich Nietzsche!
"I regard Christianity as the most fatal and suductive lie that has ever yet existed - as the greatest and most impious lie:
I say
"those whom think being meek and humble works are of the liars how do you think the christians stole robbed and raped others throughout the history of Christianity! for they know what they claim to believe they have never in history practiced!
They are low of morality and continue to prove this to themselves and others!
Asked these fools which moral principal they believe in??~!?
is it the Golden rule, Unilitarianism or kantianism huh! i bet you they know not what morals consist of! I say this to say they know not what morals are just lowly behavior meek and slow to reality and goodness!

I think the answer given is that the morality of the Atheist comes from the whispers of the Holy Spirit. Even though they do not recognize it, it is trying to make itself known.
"I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, "Here am I! Here am I!" All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations - a people who continually provoke me to my very face" Isaiah 65:1-3

I personally do not feel that Christianity is the source of morals. I do feel that as the creator Jehovah instilled humans with a sense of right and wrong. I have known many who claimed to be "Christian" who were incredibly dishonest. I have also known Atheists who seemed about as decent as the next guy. I live in the southern US. One of the things as a seller of Video Games I always lookout for is when people claim to be religous.
