I have been on pain pills for about 2 yrs. I tried to go to rehab, but they told me that I was not a harm to my self so they could not keep me. I dont know if just laying around for about a week and take the pain is a good idea or not.

I don't know why you are on the pain meds but whomever you are getting them from should be were you start, if it is from a physician. You are obviously concerned and drug addiction is a medical problem that should be addressed by a medical professional. Withdrawal can be very serious depending on your current health situation and your health history. My best suggestion is to go to your physician and together you all make a decision that is best for you.

If you need them for something like Arthritis, I would not suggest stopping them. However, if you must, I saw an interesting show relating to the martial arts today! Do some res each into Tia Chi in the area of, I believe, is called Demi. It involves using certain techniques on human body blood pressure points that affect the areas where you experience pain.

I was on painkillers for a couple years and I have just stopped taking them. I had the problem fixed. Anyway my withdrawal wasn't too bad. I got a migraine but I just took a panadol (headache tablets that you buy at the supermarket). Nothing strong or nothing that you can feel the effects like a painkiller. And I did that until I didn't get a headache. It was only a couple days that it was like that. I haven't had anything for just over 2 weeks.

Depending on how many pills you take in a day, try cutting on how many pills you take in a day or space how often you take them. If you take them every 4 hours, try to go every 5 hours. Eventually going to 6 hours apart. Good luck!
