Very logical presentation, but logic is lost on the believers.

What purpose? What kind of question is this? I mean, has anyone here tonight lived for more than billions of years to know the answer? I think not, but that's just me.
And no, god doesn't exist for your information. if he did, so would Zeus....and Poseidon....and the little mermaid....and unicorns, fairies, pixies, dragons, and who knows what else.
I never thought people could be so ignorant right now, I mean I thought everyone in the world was gaining more knowledge about the world each year, I guess I was wrong. We're just as stupid as cavemen were. Sad isn't it?

God created man for His own pleasure and glory. We are His creation, and as such, are more like children to Him. He is pleased as we find pleasure in delighting Him, just as a father is pleased when his child wants to please him.
I wouldn't call God's creation of mankind an ego trip. He wants to be worshiped, as in LOVED, by His creation. It is not a forced love, because then it would not really be love, would it? It is a love given of our own free will that pleases Him.
Most of the things God does or has done (or things we don't even know about yet) is not able to be understood by the finite mind of man. Many mysteries will be revealed when we reach the other side. Until then, we must walk by faith & not by sight.

God created us and He loves us. It is a mystery that cannot be solved with any one answer. The argument believers try to use to convert atheists is that they say, "Come over to our side and have all your burning questions answered." Faith creates as many questions as does doubt and I--speaking as a member of the human race--am thankful for this. The whole point of existence is to question reality and seek out knowledge. A common misconception about the devout is that they are know-it-alls. This is not so.

we are right here to stay this existence and stay it nicely. to no longer only stay to tell the story, yet to thrive. we do not know if there are different planets with what we would call hominids on them. it may be very conceited human beings to think of we are the only existence in the vastness of the universe, yet while they are human-like or no longer is all people's wager. Edit for Lionel: i think of you advise "Abrahamic theists" as that's the top opposite of what the Ásatrúar (and maximum different Heathenfolk) do. Heathenfolk tend to study lower back in direction of origins, no longer paintings their way from what they experience are beginning and that they attempt to make each little thing else greater wholesome. that form of ingredient is the two intellectually and spiritually cheating. I only follow my own family participants's folkway and do the academic scholarship ingredient for my own edification, to no longer point out to help me build community with different Heathenfolk (could I care to ever attain out, of direction - that is no longer needed in any respect).

God created man because he wants to weed us out from good and evil and no better way than here on earth. Individually he will see us and be able to judge us in our end regardless of where we originate from or our goverment. Not but a fraction will ever gain his true kingdom fully.

There are many purposes why God created mankind. One of them is that he wanted friends.
