Well for an egg to hatch it needs to be furtilized by a rooster, so one would have to have a chicken and an egg for anything to happen, so if there were two eggs or a hen and rooster than you would have a question.

First, the chicken, then the egg. God created the living chickens (one hen and one rooster), the hen who in turn laid the egg, second, that got fertilized by a rooster, third and hatched into a peep, fourth.

chicken obviously...it took a hen and a rooster to mate for an egg to become fertalized. if it was just an egg...how did it get fertalized?
