He is scamming you. He wants guaranteed funds so he can disappear with your money. Don't buy it. Sorry you'll have to pay more than half price.

It would probably depend on who you are buying from. Are you buying from a single source, or a business. If it is on EBay, check his stats and see what other users have said about him.

Find out why he is selling it so cheap, too.

Just to scare him a bit, I would ask him if he would do an "E-Sign" agreement, that if anything is wrong with the laptop, he is liable. See what he says. Tell him you will take him to small claims court if he scams you. But the best thing to do is probably just buy a newer laptop, or look for something that doesn't sound as fishy.

Wish ya luck!

Welll], I wouldn't deal with him. Mini photos often means they are off the web somewhere and not in posessionof the seller. Ask for a serial number series. and look it up on the manufacturers site as many of these items ar4e stolen Toshiba list stolen numbers.

Western Union is unsafe, Visa is reasonable as you can back charge if the thing doesn't arrive. Also look at escrow. That is where you pay escrow the money, when u receive the goods then you release the money to him.

Whatever you do, don't use Western Union because there's no protection. If you send him money, and you get nothing, there's nothing you can do about it.

Don't use cashier's check unless there's some sort of protection.

Call your credit card company and ask them if they've had any dealings with the guy or his company.

If you're not sure about the guy, don't buy it. Trust your intuition.

Use your credit card. Then, if there's a problem, you can dispute the payment with your credit card company. Don't send money though Wester Union or a cashier's check, because once that's gone, it's gone.

Sounds like a scam. You can get rebuilt laptops pretty cheap from reputable dealers, where you have recourse if something goes wrong. Only deal with local people!

Yeah, it sounds like a scam to me dude, I rather take my chances with ebay, I got a my friend a decent laptop a few years ago, and it still works great.

My bet is that you will never see that laptop that he claims he has and will instead lose your money. Try ebay for a good deal, at least they offer some buyer protection and user ratings. There is a good saying that goes: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
