hello. GOOD QUESTION!

i am actually a tile and laminate installer, so i can say from first hand experience as long as the glue isnt sticking up off the floor...

as long as its somewhat flat, the padding that goes over the floor should work fine

if it IS raised, go to home depot or lowes, and they rent out automatic scrappers...those are much easier to work with. you push, and it does all the work.

remember laminate floors are GREAT on flat surfaces, but when you get into humps and hills, and uneven sufaces things just will not work.

its important to make sure the floor is relativily flat...make sre there is NOTHING sticking up...as long as the glue is relativily flat to the ground, you should be fine.

you may run into a problem when puttin in your transition strips...

best way to fix this would be to drill holes in your concrete, and cut dowl rods that fit in there nice and snug. mark where the holes are, and then nail into the dowl rods. this helps instead of just glue alone.

good luck, have fun!

Don't scrape except for big spots. Probably should have left the tile to lay the floor over. But since it is gone, get some floor leveler--a cement mix that you spread over the floor to smooth and level it out. I just installed pergo over concrete, where I had some linoleum glue. I scraped and scraped, and I still have some gaping joints that squeak. So as the instructions say, get the floor as level as possible. Probably won't be that big a deal to spread out the floor leveler with a trowel. Lot easier than scraping.

The floor needs to be flat before the new laminate goes down. If you don't get it flat, the new glue will not work as well, and you will have uncomfortable bumps under your feet while you are trying to cook. Gotta scrape it dude, sorry.

You can rent machinery from U-haul, or Home Depot or places like this to get the glue off of the cement floor but I do suggest you get as much of this off as possible or your new flooring will not be level. However, go to Home Depot or Lowe's and ask their professional opinion. It is easy and it is free.
