Your psycho aunty may have nowhere else to go and your family realizes that. You have a right to feel safe. If she won't get help from a professional for her mental illness, then you will simply have to get a restraining order again and again until she realizes the problems she causes with her behavior.
Your family will probably never shut her out completely. Remember that they have known her for a long time. They may remember that once she was a better person.

Have allot of crazy family. More than you would believe. You can get a restraning order but it won't do any good as long as your nan lets her keep coming around. Don't let her abuse you, when she comes over leave, go outside do something, but keep the phone near you in case you need to call the police. But yeah my family is completely nuts that is part of the reason that we moved to another state. I have very little to do with my family because they are nuts. good luck

No, but I say take any measures necessary to get your aunt the help she needs. Your nan is thinking about how awful it is that her child is in such a state and would rather not see the police carry her daughter off to jail. Its a natural reaction. But be clear, she will not be happy with you when she discovers you were responsible. So know that when you take the order out.
