Yes and no. Legally, you are not allowed 'copying any information for commercial use'. Basically, don't copy stuff. Installing the same version of Windows is copying the OS (operating system). It'll probably work, just you can't install any updates. Big shame. So, on the whole, it would be better NOT to do that. Period.(not the gay period) Period. Well, I'm off to do other stuff.

Only if both are Dells and work with OEM install disks. M$ got smart with XP and put an activation system on them, rendering each copy (product key) to the original computer. Dell doesnt have this, so it works on most of their PC's.

Not sure a recovery disc will do.. I installed XP over my ME, and it worked fine (also added 256 to RAM)....

XP is licensed for use in your new computer only. If you would like a legal, free and up to date operating system for your second computer get UBUNTU.
If you have 256MB of RAM get a full version. If less, get XUBUNTU.

Doubtful.
Legally you shouldn't be doing it even if it does work, technically the disk is probably encrypted and will only open on the machine it's made for.
It's also doubtful that the disk would contain the drivers needed for your old motherboard.
