The hamburger. Eggs are good for you (lots of protein) and olive oil is good for your heart.

actually eggs have lots of cholesteral as well. Why would you need to cook your hamburger in olive oil? Olive oil is good for you in relation to other oils, but its kind of a relative thing.

Personally, the way you phrased your question I would say eggs cooked in olive oil are better for you than the hamburger. However if you had really low fat hamburger and didn't cook it in oil it would probably be a toss up.

I'm going to assume the amount of olive oil is the same in each.

1 lb hamburger= 1560.5 calories
350 mg cholesterol
76.52 g fat

A pound of eggs is 75 eggs!

Each egg has ~ 200 mg cholesterol

so that's 15000 mg of cholesterol
5850 calories
525 g fat

(300 mg per day is the limit recommended.)

Clearly the pound of eggs is worse for your health.

(It's also funny that of everyone who answered so far, only the vegan would realize how light in weight eggs are =)

The hamburger lots of cholesterol and fat. Eggs are high protein and have cholesterol but some studies i have seen says that this cholesterol is not easily absorbed into the bloodstream

The hamburger would be worse - red meat has 'bad' cholesterol, whereas eggs have 'good' cholesterol.

neither would be detrimental to long term health if it was not a regular practice in the diet. in the grand scale of things one day of an excessive amount of cholesterol or fat would have no long term effects on health.
