I know, I know. Everyone will tell me to 'have your child professionally tested...' Which is in the works right now. We are working with our insurance company to have my 6 year old tested.
I was just wondering if any parents out there have Apserger child with selected symptoms of Aspergers Syndrome and yet were still diagnosed with it. Is it possible or do they have to have ALL the sympoms. Dont write back saying to get my kid tested, b/c I know that. My son's symptoms are 1.non-understandable speech as a toddler and slightly delayed now. 2.very overemotioinal over something minor. 3.cares 'too much' about what we as his parents think of him, he always wants to please even though we dont require it. 4. diagnosed early on with develpmntl delays.
**I know what Aspergers is, so please dont email back giving me a vocabulary lesson as far as what the symptoms are, I KNOW. And that I should have him tested, I KNOW. AND YES, I LOVE HIM FOR WHO HE IS. SO dont accuse me otherwise

properly 3 and seven sound like primary youthful guy syndrome. heavily, maximum of them do those issues. and eight and 13 have definitely no longer something to do with aspergers. As for the rest, they could be an illustration of aspergers, yet they might additionally basically be his guy or woman quirks which take place to seem a sprint like aspergers. I remember in midsection/extreme college I had some features that led a pair instructors to have self belief I had aspergers, besides the undeniable fact that it seems i did no longer--i replaced into basically extra awkward then maximum dealing with puberty.

Does your oldest child go to public school? If so, they will test him free. When we went to have our son tested by a professional, the whole test/eval was $500, and they let us make payments. My son is High Function, so yes there is a possibility that your son could have it and still be able to function along the normal lines. There are community services that will provide speech eval and therapy free. Look that up in your phone book. If you have a local Easter Seals or ARC they will be able to direct you as well.

I'm no expert on any of this, but yes I think he can have a few of the symptoms. I'd think it'd think it'd be like anything else you can have some, but not all of the symptoms. Good Luck, sorry I'm not a bigger help.

from what I was told is everyone has aspects of Aspergers. But to actually have it you must display all symptoms. (from a paediatrician who deals in Autism)
