She is under 24 hour home care. The only thing being done differently is that she has a potassium pill that she takes now. She is in her 90's. Wife is trying to figure out what is causing this. Does not seem to be a side effect of potassium pills, we can't find anything that says this would happen. Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like a fungal infection, which is basically all that a diaper rash really is. try some over-the-counter cream or a prescription anti-fungal cream from her doctor. If she's not able to leave her bed or get around well, it's still very important to bathe her on a daily basis and/or after each episode of incontinence.

shingles, also not trying to be a jerk but,the nursing home in our area actually had bODy lice on the residents.its red ,blistery and looks like tracks.it could be a start od bed sores caused from not being moved around different positions properly on a regular basis.i would say it could be a heat rash but, your best bet is ask her Dr to look at it.good luck.

Sounds like shingles. Have her see the doc first thing in the morning and get this checked out.

Is it in the area that a "diaper" would cover? It might be that they are not cleaning/changing her often enough.
