Generally in professional poker aggressive players do better. But this is a general concept and it has to be intelligent aggression, not just pointless aggression.
Among less professional players sometimes a more conservative approach can be more appropriate. But every game is different and one always has to consider the specifics of the game.

It has to be a happy balance, also the table conditions will dictate how tight or loose you play as well. I like to play loose at a tight table and tight at a loose table, but in the end aggressive poker is winning poker. That's not saying you should ram and jam with every single hand, but you should have a purpose for what you are doing, like i am going to re-raise my opponent because i think he is weak and he plays tight and i think i can take this pot down. Just raising to raise is foolish and will only lead to empty pockets.

Aggressive poker is winning poker, but it all depend on the situation, chips stack size, your image at the table, position, style of your opponents.....etc.
Poker is a game where you " act in the moment", so sometimes it's better to play tight as a rock, and sometimes like maniac. Each situation are unique.
Take care

Depends on whether you're playing with tight or loose players. In very general terms, you should be playing the opposite of your opponents -- aggressive if everyone is playing tight, conservative if everyone is throwing chips everywhere.

both; at the same time,,,,,,,,,,,90% of the time you should play tight/aggressive which is the same thing as conservative/ aggressive conservative means the limited types of starting hands you play and aggressive means betting and raising how you play those hands.
