I think that this question lacks a certain amount of objectivity. In general principle Muslims do not seek to wipe out anybody and nor are Buddhists so easily wiped out.
Politics and the desire for power cause people to kill each other and not religion. Some people may use religion to mask what they are doing or use religious labels to describe what they are doing but it is not the religion but people who are evil.
In the history of India for example, some leaders abused religion to extend their power base. The fact that the victors were stylized as Muslim and the vanquished Buddhist does not really prove a religious conflict or conflict of ideologies only really a struggle for power.
In political terms, Buddhism has many disadvantages. We can never use the teachings of Buddha to justify killing and cannot claim the will of God as a justification. We cannot subjugate people by fear of punishment from our God or claim that our God is all seeing and will punish any non-believers. Overall, Buddhism is not very useful for gaining or exploiting as a political tool and is not an effective defense against political power politics.

Here in Canada a survey came out about the attitudes of Muslims. When asked about the terrorist attempt in Canada, 9% said it was justified, but 13% were not sure. That is close to one in four Muslims in Canada who were not outraged by this attempt. One can only imagine if it is that high in Canada, how high is it in Muslim countries.
The same survey also showed that 70% are apposed to Canada's mission in Afghanistan. What has happed there a radical extremist Islamic state was deposed and a moderate Islamic government was implemented. Yet all you hear from Muslim is how the taliban did not represent the true nature of Islam, and yet they want Canada to withdraw its troops and give the taliban a chance to come back.

Ahem. Sorry, yet for actual? Why would the Mongols wipe out each Arab city they got here to in the event that they have been Muslim? and that they got here from the east, the place there have been no muslims. The mongols have been Buddhist too dude. don't think me, google it. They have been MUGHAL no longer MONGOL. The Mughals got here from Afghanistan and took over India. They killed because of the fact they have been violent. As maximum human beings with too lots ability are. And the Hindu rulers did worse than the Muslims. Why do you think of that there are greater Buddhists in China? ok, Islam unfold into Afghanistan before positioned up-Mongol invasion. Then, a set of human beings, referred to as the Mughals, invaded India, and based an empire that lasted till the British invasion. No, they do no longer look to be an identical. Sanskrit or no longer, they are 2 diverse communities. The Mughals are truthfully admired. If no longer for them, India does no longer be the place that's immediately.

I would guess so, at least to some degree. The example that comes to mind (at least from recent years) is the destruction of the Bamyan Buddhas in Afghanistan by the Taliban.
