Overall the race was good.Yes they had the Daytona wrecks and and all of us fans will be finger pointing the causes until next race. Then comes the last lap race and Mark Martin come up short in controversy.

Best Finish for the Daytona 500? Possibly.... Best Finish at Daytona, NO!!!!!! Look at the 1984 Firecracker 400, when Richard Petty came through for win number 200. A similar event took place as what happened today, a wreck occurred in turn one forcing the caution to come out. At this time, of course, they raced back to the s/f line so Cale Yarborough and Richard Petty continued to duel. Petty held the lead at the time of the caution, but Yarborough made a slingshot move to take the lead in 3. Out of four, Petty got a great run on the top of the banking and was alongside Yarborough. The two were very close at the line, but Petty was declared a winner by about half the margin of today's race. The significance of this race, with President Reagan there, as well as Petty getting win 200 make this the best finish at Daytona.

It was an amazing race alot of drivers were involved in crashes and all my non favorite drivers were involved in crashes as well so that was amazing and then the wrecks just kept coming and it was awesome because you didnt know what was going to happen next and we all thought Mark Martin had that win at the end but guess not and Harvick came out of no where and won it and I'm glad Kyle Busch took out Kenseth as he took out Jr. and then I'm glad Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart wrecked, as I didn't want Tony to win all 3 races. I was a little disappointed my favorite driver #24 got involved in that last lap wreck.

for me it was.
i still cant believe how mark didnt get this throphy.
harvick had a pretty turbo boost on turn 3 though, if he would get blocked for a sec this race would be marks.
yet another great daytona 500 race.
i am big martin fan but dont think race should have been yellowed since they both were clear racing to the finish line.
Go Mark for Nextel Championship this season !

My entire family felt the yellow should have come out. We were all screaming and yelling the last few laps. I am a Jamie McMurray fan so I was really p.o.'d at Kenseth for wrecking him. Glad Kenseth got wrecked before it was over.

No!! Any race that Kevin Harvick finishes in the top 43 is a bad race.

I'm actually dissapointed. I was hoping he would win. Then I was excited that there was another wreck and thought they were going to throw out the yellow flag and that he won.
