My husband and I are planning on a 3month gettaway to visit relatives In Poland. I do not know the language. My husband does tough. How are my kids 19mth and 3mth going to react to this. My daughter, eldest, hates new things. Will this be tramatic for her? Or might she get over it?

My sister has a 2 year old son.....he has been to Paris, Germany and Iran. He now has learned a few words in each language. The problem is this....when it is the time that a child generaly learns to speak and say words, and they are traveling to a different country, it may confuse them a little. They arent sure WHAT to say. But... with that being said, your child will be just fine. Kids have a way of adapting. Dont worry about it traumatizing them. Funny thing is, that they will never ever remember the experience of going to another country once they are a little older.

Believe it or not - kids adjust faster and better than adlts!!
Give them as much love as u can - be there for them 100 % ....they will be fine - try to make it fun , language wise - it depends what u want them speaking , kids are very clever and hear /listen very well !! Good luck with ur travels!

Start preparing them. They may be young, but you'd be surprised at what they can understand. Bring along something that they are used to..a favourite blanket to sleep with, etc. Does your husband speak polish to them? Maybe he should start.

why would it be tramatic for her to see relatives? I think they'll be fine. Take lots of pictures, they probably won't remember it when they get older.
