Hi Jill,
I can give you great advice on how to lose weight sensibly and that will work if you stick to the healthy eating routine.
The food that we should be eating and what doesn't allow us to put the weight on, is food that is whole and unrefined. These foods include, as many raw things as possible such as peppers and green Kali leaves, carrots, mixed salads. All raw foods are rich in antioxidants that allow the body to get rid of toxins that help to remove fat stored in the body. It takes some getting used to eating whole foods like these, and they can be introduced very gradually and so you get used to them.
Definitely don't skip out on breakfast, it's the most important meal of the day. Breakfast speeds up your metabolism which burns more calories faster during the day. You should definitely start off with a large meal in the morning (cereal, yogurt, oatmeal or eggs are good choices. This will curb your appetite throughout much of the day and so you won't feel hungry until at least midday or gone.Fibre rich foods is also very important such as wholemeal
bread and bran cereals.
It is always a good idea to vary what you eat and to keep it as colorful as you can so that it doesn't get boring. Smoothies are
a great alternative as a meal replacement made entirely of natural fruit such as banana's, strawberries and yoghurt. This can be had for lunch eaten with an apple. It is also good to eat snacks in between meals such as unsalted (popcorn, pretzels, dried fruits and fresh fruit, and dinner should be the least important meal of the day with brown rice, mixed sweetcorn salad and tuna steak. Avoiding white bread, potatoes and white pasta is essential.
The whole foods are going to fill you up for longer and are not going to have the calorie content that regular foods have. You
can eat six boiled eggs with a bowl of mixed raw salad and one
large slice of wholemeal bread with a scraping of soya butter and
this will fill you so full for hours and you are not going to get fat. It might not be as nice as naughty foods, but it is the naughty foods that make us fat and keep us addicted to the sugar and salt in them.
You can get smoothie recipe's from the internet called smoothie recipe's. You can have so much fun making them and taste so incredible. Eating as many apples and berries and vegetables is what is going to shift the pounds more than any other diet around and the effects of weightloss are longer term because it is your taste buds that have changed and not the calorie intake. Pills and crash diets do not work because I have tried them all. It also
works to drink more water and up to six pint glasses a day and to get an hour's exercise everyday walking or doing something very physical.
Just changing the amount you eat isn't going to make you lose weight as you will just feel starved and eat more anyway. You just need to switch to more healthy options that are going to change your taste buds and help you choose foods that will keep
you fuller for longer and make you regular through fibre intake you find in all raw foods and cereals. This really is the best way you
can lose weight and because what you eat will have half the calories and fill you up for longer!
This is the advice any dietician or doctor would give you and what has worked for me in all of the diets I have ever tried. This is about long term change rather than short term and the results are incredible if you stick to it.

I asked my doctor the same question. His response was:
30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week
Eat mostly fresh fruits and veggies - more veggies than fruit
Cut down on sugars
Drink lots of water
Cut back on carbs (do not eliminate totally) - 2 servings daily
Limit salt intake
Protein intake should be the size of your fist or palm of your hand - 3 servings daily
So far, it is working. I lost 6 pounds last week.

Diet and exercise. Aim for a well-balanced, calorie restricted diet, drink plenty of water, and exercise 30 minutes 3 times a week. Start here, and once these habits become second nature, you can bump up the intensity.

excercise. many don't opt out for that option because it's sooooo tedious to actually do, but if you want to shed some pounds, proper diet (no carbs) and good ol' excercise should do the trick.
